Temple of Courage

Welcome to the Temple of Courage, where various characters from the Legend of Zelda series battle out on a semi-weekly basis! You, the people, are the deciding factors in these matches. Functionally, all of these battles are popularity contests and not "battles" as such. For instance, in a boss vs. boss fight, we suggest that you vote for the one you like the most rather than whether or not one enemy would beat another in a legit fight. This is only a suggestion, though.

If you have an account and have at least 50 mainspace edits, you can suggest a fight or vote or comment on others on the suggestions sub-article.

  • You may vote for your favorite or who you think would win in a competition between the two combatants that week.
  • You may vote only once.
  • If you are a user, please include your vote in the user section. If you are not a user, please include your vote in the anonymous section. However, any votes in the anonymous sections will count as only a half vote.
  • When a new fight is created (the process should take no longer than a week, give or take a couple of days), the votes from the last fight will be totaled and the winner decided.
  • Please sign your vote (unless you want to be counted as an anonymous vote) with a link to your username after your voting text.
  • Don't try to rig the votes by entering multiple votes; these pages are regularly patrolled and you WILL face consequences if you are caught.
  • Don't use talk templates.

Week 166: Error vs. Secret Moblin

Secret Moblin
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNN!!! It's time for the one hundred and sixty-sixth showdown of magic in the TEMPLE. OF. COOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAGE! Our combatants this week are on CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL and before you doubt their reputation, we'll let you see them now!

In the blue corner we have a villager from the Town of Ruto. He allows you to enter an isolated palace. When met he is a man of few words, THIS. IS. ERROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!

In the pink corner we have a secret man helpful friend(?) who resides in a cave. Is he the only one, or are there more of his kind? Although it's a secret, THIS. IS. SEEEEECREEEEETTT MOOOOOOOOOBLIIIIIIN!

Votes for Error

  1. When I was trying to play through Zelda II, I encountered ERROR and flipped out, it was quite exciting. So yeah, voting for the infamy. User:Jäzzi/Safe
  2. The Secret Moblin gave me money, but Error gave me a special kind of shattering insight into my mind without which I would be a drastically different person today, for better or worse. Money can't buy me love, but temporary psychoses, yeah. It worked for Charlie Sheen, at least. Lastly, I would lik-ERRORERRORERRORERRORERROR01000101 01010010 01010010 01001111 01010010 --AuronKaizer! 00:36, July 2, 2012 (UTC)
  3. For the record, I don't have these games. I think Error was so famous since it was just very random and funny for a game that is usually regarded as difficult. Kingkillerbee (talk) 21:56, July 1, 2012 (UTC)
  4. Banter between my friends and I about how he got this name is priceless. AWWW YEA! (talk) 17:59, July 2, 2012 (UTC)

  1. You gotta think IT'S A SECRET TO EVERYBODY. or I AM ERROR. well guess what...I AM ERROR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Why am I voting over here? Well, IT'S A- Ahem. I fully and completely trust my instincts that told me to vote here, and I don't think they are in ERR- Alright, don't throw those tomatoes at me, I didn't finish the phrases... And no, this isn't me going with the flow; the comments on this side just pushed me in this direction and I couldn't bring myself to make a pity vote.
  3. I am Error.

  2. It's a everybody to secret!
  3. Wow that's tough.

  5. The Secret Moblin is mentioned in almost all of the LoZ games, while Error is just a weird step-child in a weird step-child of a game.

Honestly, the colors need major(a) work, I haven ever had that hard of a time with the colors. And the introduction... might be too little. User:Jäzzi/Safe

Week 165: Goht vs. Koloktos

6.5 < 21
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNN!!! It's time for the one hundred and sixty-fifth showdown for the love of the people in the TEMPLE. OF. COOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAGE! Our combatants this week are monstrous metal machines hidden in the depths of ancient temples. Oh, hey, they're awake! Let's meet them now.

In the raging-red-orange corner is a masked mechanical monster found frozen in a large block of ice deep inside of the Snowhead Temple. Responsible for the recent frosting-over for the area, our hero ventures inside with his trusty Goron Mask and engages the creature in combat. Running away from the rampaging beast, eventually the hero destroys this creature and it collapses, out of energy. Angry and ready to trample down anything that gets in its way, THIS. IS. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHT!

In the gray corner we have a golden, many-armed automaton found in the very top of the Ancient Cistern. Wielding axes and swords, it proves a challenge for our hero to defeat; only by fighting fire with fire (or big swords with...the same big swords, as it were), is our hero able to damage the heart at its very core. Armed and ready to fight, THIS. IS. KOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLOOOOOOOOKTOOOOOOOOOS!

Hold on to your dustmasks and watch closely! This intense duel-to-the-death is about to begin! So without further adieu LLLLLLLLLLLLLET'S GET RRRRRRRRRRRRRREADYYYYYYYY TO RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMBLE!!!

Votes for Goht

  1. No love for Goht? Come now people, this boss battle was very creative! He runs around... and around... and around... Nothing can top that! Kapodaco! (talk) 18:12, June 15, 2012 (UTC)
  2. AWWW YEA! AWWW YEA! (talk) 17:22, June 16, 2012 (UTC)
  3. I wasn't too much a fan of Koloktos. Goht was a fun battle, especially because you need the Goron mask. Ike 20:51, June 21, 2012 (UTC)
  4. Goht is really tough and ruthless, just Majora doing its thing boss wise. It's appearance is also pretty badass, and though I'll admit Kolkotos looks cooler, I didn't enjoy Skyard Sword much so he pales down in comparison.--Trill&Plumm (talk) 04:48, June 30, 2012 (UTC)

  1. I just feel bad for Goht, AND Majora's mask was a much better game.
  2. Goht stunk as a boss. But he was still amazing.
  3. No love for a boss that attacked you out of free will?
  4. Both were fun, but I enjoyed Goht much more. And, he's one of the bosses not made easier by fierce deity.
  5. Goht is one of my favourite majoras mask bosses and the goron mask is just awesome.

Votes for Koloktos

  1. One of my favorite Skyward Sword boss fights and come on this thing just looks badass. Minish Link   Talk Page 17:13, 6/14/2012
  2. I'll admit Goht was a great boss but Koloktos just beats him six hands down. This was a terrific boss fight, great boss design, very fitting music, nice use of the dungeon weapon and it lets you use a big freaking sword. Goht had quite a bit going for it but being the boss that you likely had to refight the most in the game eventually made him become somewhat annoying in my humble opinion. Koloktos on the other hand I look forward to fighting this boss again and again and again. Oni Dark Link 17:24, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
  3. My favorite SS boss that you don't fight 3 times. How could I not vote for him?--Green Rupee 18:31, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
  4. You get a giant sword from Koloktos. Case closed. --KilledbyKeese 19:11, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
  5. While I like Goht and consider it the more fun and objectively challenging fight, the latter is caused more by fake difficulty in the form of unfair, random programming than any sort of ingenuity on the part of the game makers. Koloktos quickly becomes repetitive, but never boring. However, it does become a victim of trying to hard, with the giant swords and whatnot. It's not strictly necessary, and seems to me to be a bit beneath Zelda in general, instead fitting more into, to say it in a very nice way, cerebrally challenged games (and by extent, the gamers what play them) such as God of War. --AuronKaizer! 21:29, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
  6. Goht was a fun fight, but the finicky controls of the Goron rolling combined with Goht's eerily accurate attacks could make it frustrating at times. Koloktos employed a cool and creative use of the (otherwise pretty disappointing) dungeon item and was overall I found it really entertaining. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 22:47, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
  7. As much as I'd love to fill that void on the left, I just can't bring myself to do it. Both battles were a lot of fun, but Koloktos was just designed much better. Jedimasterlink (talk) 23:33, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
  8. I haven't got to this part in Skyward Sword, and I don't have have Majora's Mask, so this is based off of the videos. As much as I dislike voting for a side that is winning by a lot, Koloktos looks more challenging and it kills its own minions. Kingkillerbee (Talk) 21:04, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
  9. Likely my favorite boss in the series. Goht is good, but loses when compared to this guy. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 19:47, June 15, 2012 (UTC)
  10. Actually, there were a surprising amount of reasons to choose Goht, but Koloktos is simply one of the very best boss fights we've had in the Zelda series. Shame that the Whip is kinda... weird. "FWONG! SPLAT! GLOIP!" - it sounds and looks like something you'd get for a kid at a science fair. Also the Goht fight was pretty genius. --Naxios10 (talk) 07:50, June 16, 2012 (UTC)
  11. Koloktos's theme song is super intense and his fight was very creative. It perfectly fit the Buddhist theme of the Ancient Cistern. Plus I never played Majora's Mask, and quite frankly Goht creeps the hell out of me...--Hero of twilight44 (talk) 11:08, June 17, 2012 (UTC)
  12. This boss is awesome! It looks so cool. It is solid gold! Goht is the easiest boss ever. I hate easy bosses. Koloktos was hard and looked awesome. Z-Zori Gigafly (Talk) 20:39, June 21, 2012 (UTC)
  13. Koloktos is bigger, stronger and more of a challenge than goht so my vote goes for Koloktos...--Longhorn Velez (talk) 15:23, June 22, 2012 (UTC)
  14. I think everything about this boss is epic! Even the music! What's better than a gold robot with multiple arms holding axes? Goht is just a... Simple goat! User:ShadowEyes978 (Talk) 18:54, June 25;2012 (UTC)
  15. I gotta choose THIS pile of metal because after fighting Ghot two times this morning, I'm absolutely sick of him. :P --GildedGhirahim (talk) 00:09, June 26, 2012 (UTC)
  16. He's epic!  Yugimuto1    Talk   21 edits

  1. First vote. Not just anon, but overall. Anyway, I, uh, haven't played the other game, but before you go all "I hate people who do that" I would like to say that I read the page of the one on the left and watched the video. And I prefer this guy. I liked the fact that you got to use his own weapon against him, and he's just so nice and shiny. And my instincts did tell me to vote on the right again. </rambling>
  2. When I first battled Koloktos I was like, Awesome! All those big and shiny weapons! I like shiny weapons, which is why I like the Iron Knuckle so much and he's got an axe too. But then when Koloktos got up his wobbly legs and took out the six giant scimitars, I was like: NOO WAAAY!! I loved this battle! Oh yeah, Majora's Mask is indeed a better game than Skyward Sword, in my opinion.
  3. Honestley hwo wouldn't LOOOOOOOOOOOVE to wield those scimitars. I mean goht was fun but he could get VEEEERY annoying at times.
  4. Don't make me choose!!!
  5. The solid golden ancient machine always gets my vote.
  6. The Goht battle was kinda boring.
  7. Well, I'm kinda new to the whole "Legend of Zelda Universe" thing, seeing as I've only played The Legend of Zelda, and Twilight Princess, and I've finish neither of them. So, coolest looking boss goes to the Kolokosis guy, or whatever.
  8. never played either game, but my bro has battled kolokotos and his battle theme rocks. just like girahms battle theme. and wind waker ganondorf. and WW miniboss. the list of rocking zelda fights goes on and on and on and... KOLOKOTOS FTW!
  9. u get to use a huge sword
  10. While I love Majora's Mask a lot more than Skyward Sword, or any other Zelda game for that matter, I gotta hand it to Kolktos for being frigging epic. No matter what the fight is, Koloktos wins.

Week 164: Prince Komali vs. Prince Ralis

Prince Komali Normal
"'Prince Komali'"

Prince Ralis
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNN!!! Once again, it is time for a Battle Royal(e with cheese) in the TEMPLE. OF. COOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAGE! This week's combatants are both young princes with more than their share of trouble at such a tender age. Their royal credentials will be read out loud by a servant of the court, henceforth.

In the gray corner is the fledgling prince of the Rito residing on Dragon Roost Island. The holder of the Pearl of the Goddess that the hero seeks in order to defeat Ganondorf, he is reluctant to fulfill the Ritos' traditional ritual of maturity as a result of the recent violent outbursts of his people's guardian deity, Valoo. Inspired by the hero's courageous journey into the island's enemy-infested dungeon, he is able to finally accomplish the aforementioned task and grow his wings; at a later point, he swoops in and saves Link from certain death. THIS. IS. PRIIIIIIIIIIINCE KOMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALIIIIIIII!

In the brown corner is the youthful prince of the Zora of Hyrule. When his people's lands were attacked by evil forces, he was sent on a perilous journey to warn Hyrule Castle of the enemy attack; however, he was severely injured en route. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to him, his mother the queen was executed as an example to those who would defy their new leader, Zant. The prince's injuries proved too great for the Castle Town doctor to remedy; Link escorted him and his rescuer to Kakariko Village to receive healing from the shaman there. Once healed, he helped the hero on his quest by providing a trinket of his people; eventually, he came to grips with his responsibilities and took his place on the throne of Zora's Domain. THIS. IS. PRIIIIIIIIINCE RRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAALIIIIIIIIIS!!!

Votes for Prince Komali

  1. I honestly liked WW better and don't birds eat fish? Green Rupee (talk) 21:35, May 31, 2012 (UTC)
  2. Well Ralis' most notable moments involve him being unconscious. That and I actually didn't mind Komali's needless depression. Oni Dark Link 21:43, May 31, 2012 (UTC)
  3. I feel like Komali was an wasted character in a lot of ways, because they give him character growth but never really go anywhere with it. He had potential as a character, though, which is more than I can say for Ralis, who was extremely forgettable in a lot of ways. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 22:02, May 31, 2012 (UTC)
  4. I don't really remember Ralis that much. So Komali wins by default. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 22:06, May 31, 2012 (UTC)
  5. Komali is one of my favorite Zelda characters, and he actually saved Link. Kingkillerbee (Talk) 16:26, May 31, 2012 (UTC)
  6. Hated dragging Ralis around in the carriage, and Komali is alright. -Minish Link 00:05, June 1, 2012 (UTC)
  7. I liked Komali better. Not many more reasons past that. Mr kmil Spin Attack (A Link to the Past) 12:32, June 1, 2012 (UTC)
  8. Just prefer Wind Waker, to be honest. SadisticZora3169 (talk) 10:20, June 3, 2012 (UTC)

Anonymous votes

  1. First anon vote. I have no idea why I'm voting for him, other than the fact that my instincts tell me to. Oh yeah, and that the other guy was in a coma for half the game or something, more or less.
  2. Prince Komali just seemed to have more of a character than Prince Ralis did. I mean, Prince Ralis is alright, and he has a pretty sad story, with his mother being killed and all. But he knew what had happened, and understood, and was able to be brought to terms with it (or would as time went on, anyway). But when Prince Komali shows you the flower he picked for Medli, and how it's wilted's absolutely heartbreaking. Medli's alive, but...she's just not coming back. And she didn't even get to tell him goodbye. Also, the figurine of him is really cool.
  3. Prince Komali had more of a role in the actual game than Ralis. Plus, the part in TP where you have to protect the carriage was pretty much my least favorite part of the game.
  4. Didn't Ralis almost die? At least Komali saved you a couple of times. And he was soo cute when he was holding his pearl, the little brat:P
  5. Prince Komali is adorable, and i'm not to sure who the other guy is...
  6. Komali didn't really strike me as engaging or even likable untel the scene with the flower which was the idyllic, picture perfect, cutesy, utesy, symbol of a childhood romance and it;s absolutely tragic that he won't see Medli again. Ralis, although he lost a beloved parent which is very sad, never showed a lot of depth and seemed overall half baked, like he was missing sprinkles or icing or something.
  7. Both contestants seem kind of uninspired this week, but I guess that Komali is the better character.
  8. I have several reasons to vote for Komali, the first of which is that he's adorable. Emo flower-loving bird mailman of the sea? 'Nuff said.

Votes for Prince Ralis

  1. I'm biased towards Zoras. Jazzi 21:26, May 31, 2012 (UTC)
  2. Komali just annoyed the H-E-Doublehockeysticks out of me, even though he turned into a lame Deus ex machina that had no build-up. Not that I have a lot of love for the Prince of Androgyny over there, but... lesser of two annoying princes. I hate princes in general... just spoiled brats, the lot of them. Who needs 'em? --AuronKaizer! 21:36, May 31, 2012 (UTC)
  3. I feel worse for Prince Ralis. He lost both of his parents. Rusl 33
  4. Twilight Princess was my first, and favorite Legend of Zelda. Paradox64 (talk) 19:20, June 2, 2012 (UTC)
  5. I like Zora's a little more than Rito. Both are cool, but at least he just gave me his earring instead of making me fight a giant centipede. Ike 17:57, June 5, 2012 (UTC)

  1. I did this because he's behind in votes and he's one of my favorite Zoras.
  2. Twilight Princess was my first Zelda game, and i haven't The Wind Waker.
  3. i just like him more i dont have to explane my self
  4. I hate both contestants.
  5. Fish or bird? Fish or bird? Fish or...
  6. Komali made me go through an entire dungeon, when he could've just given me the pearl. And I dont like Rito. (That means I DONT LIKE MEDLII!)
  7. I just like fish.
  8. Komali was SO ANNOYING! He wouldn't give me that pearl! And there's just something about him that I don't like besides the aforementioned fact. But to tell the truth, I don't remember anything about this zora prince. Whatever! The zoras are cooler anyway.
  9. he gives you the earring. yay smelly fish
  10. Ralis didn't make you go through an entire dungeon just to prove that you're worth listening to. He gets my vote
