Skype

Your suggestion is noted, but as I said before, I don't use IM these days, and at this time I have no desire to.

I've been around - working on Template:ImageCaption, doing a bit of transparency. You're right, I have been a little less active in the last few weeks - I suppose it's partly because of being occupied with other things over the holidays, and partly just because I don't yet know what my next big ZW-centric project will be, so I'm not in a rush to finish the current ones! Cool. I'm getting ready to rename that template to Imcap because it's a bit big, but I'm waiting for an admin who can do a text replacement to get on. In any case, it's good to see you. I've started doing some image work, too, as you can see. I'm not the greatest, but I'll get better.

Hehe. This means that I now do everything on the wiki. I do templates, mainspace, images, cleanups, fixes, taggings, you name it. I use GIMP for my image-editing needs. The process of giving an image a transparent background varies from one image to another, but this tutorial covers the core method that I use most of the time. User:Petenu/sig 20:31, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Anyways, here's a piece of advice: If you're going to make a change to a page while patrolling, patrol the edit first and then click edit at the "Marked as patrolled" screen. Otherwise, you'll have to reselct the edit from the Recent Changes and patrol it >_>

Also, the Mediawiki:Admin.js script can be helpful to you. It adds a patrol tab while patrolling which allows you to press alt-shift-1 to patrol an edit quickly, and then you can press it again at the "marked as patrolled" screen to return to the unpatrolled recent changes. It makes life SO much easier. To use it, add this to User:Petenu/monobook.js:

importScript('mediawiki:admin.js')

If you're using the gumax skin, however, you'll have to use my customized script. I tweaked it to work with the skin ;)

In that case, add this to User:Petenu/gumaxdd.js:

importScript('user:neo/adming.js')

Hey buddy, thanks for dropping by. I've been doing a bit of patrolling, depending upon the nature of what's in the patrol queue, but it's true that I haven't been editing much. I guess that one of my main motivators for contributing was getting the first two sections of the image requests page under control, and now that that's done, it's time for me to ride off into the sunset, so to speak. Guys, I appreciate the sentiments. All I'm saying is that I played a lot of Zelda in 2009, saw that this wiki needed a fair bit of image work doing, so hung around to lend a hand. I'm not making a formal declaration of intent to leave, but it's just an acknowledgement of the fact that my situation is different this year, so I probably won't be around as much. I would love to hang around and be a more active and permanent fixture in this community, but there's a toxic element which is just too obnoxious and shrill to be ignored.
