The Smooth Gem is an event item in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. It is a mystical jewel used by the Zora Queen, Oren, to contain her powers. Without it, she loses control of her hunger and grows in size every time she eats.
The Smooth Gem was stolen by the Shady Guy, who then sold it to a shop keeper in Kakariko Village. Link discovers the queen's plight while attempting to access the House of Gales. He must then purchase the gem from the salesman and return it to Oren. In return, he gets the Zora Flippers.
