Due to all of your great contributions to ZW, the staff have decided to promote your user rights from user to autopatrol. It comes with no extra responsibility, but means that you are a well established editor, and don't need everything you do to be checked by the staff. You can get further details on user rights here. Keep up the great edits, and seasons greetings from ZW. - M E L C H I Z E D E K  (TALK) 12:43, 24 December 2009 (UTC)

Hell yeah. • Pete | 13:31, 24 December 2009 (UTC)
Well look at that! Congratulations, Pete! You earned it. Of course, it basically just means less work for the patrol staff, but it means that you're a great editor. See you around!Justin(Talk) 07:16, 1 January 2010 (UTC)
It semed only a matter of time with your great image work! Congrats, from one autopatroller to another! =)— ciprianotalk 21:38, 1 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanks guys. As you say, Neo, it's basically just less work for the patrollers, but the compliment is not lost on me. • Pete | 16:13, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

I know someone's asked you about this before, but you should consider getting Skype. It's really helpful and it provides a means of quick and easy communication with everyone. Also, what's going on? I haven't seen you in awhile.Justin(Talk) 17:17, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

Your suggestion is noted, but as I said before, I don't use IM these days, and at this time I have no desire to.
I've been around - working on Template:ImageCaption, doing a bit of transparency. You're right, I have been a little less active in the last few weeks - I suppose it's partly because of being occupied with other things over the holidays, and partly just because I don't yet know what my next big ZW-centric project will be, so I'm not in a rush to finish the current ones! • Pete | 17:35, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
Cool. I'm getting ready to rename that template to Imcap because it's a bit big, but I'm waiting for an admin who can do a text replacement to get on. In any case, it's good to see you. I've started doing some image work, too, as you can see. I'm not the greatest, but I'll get better.
Hehe. This means that I now do everything on the wiki. I do templates, mainspace, images, cleanups, fixes, taggings, you name it. I even work on those obscure Tingle games which no one ever touched but Alter. Us multipurpose people are quite rare, nowadays.Justin(Talk) 18:04, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
I don't think that being knowledgeable on the subject of the Tingle games is necessarily anything to be proud of! ;) • Pete | 22:41, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
Ever played a Tingle game? No? Then you don't even know :PJustin(Talk) 22:52, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
Fair point, but neither do I need to kiss a hippopotamus on the arse to feel qualified to judge that particular activity. • Pete | 09:24, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Hey, just wanted to let you know that we're using your imagecaption template over on WiKirby. Take a look.Justin(Talk) 07:14, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

Cool, glad you like it. • Pete | 09:20, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

Just wanted to say thanks for bringing up those 3 small images I uploaded as trasparent *thumbs up* ~~n88r

You're welcome. It's just what I do. • Pete | 11:26, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Thanks 2

Thankyou for making images transparent. ^ _^ What kind of Paint Shop do you use? -- կրակ (խոսել) -- 19:47, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

You're welcome - I hope I wasn't too presumptuous by doing it without okaying it with you first.
I use GIMP for my image-editing needs. The process of giving an image a transparent background varies from one image to another, but this tutorial covers the core method that I use most of the time. • Pete | 20:31, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Hey. How would you like to be promoted to help with patrol? The staff believe that you have shown the dedication and skills for the position, and we are in need of some help in overcoming the current patrol backlog. If you're interested in helping out let me know. - M E L C H I Z E D E K  (TALK) 06:29, 4 March 2010 (UTC)

Try to keep conversations on the same talk page. Apologies if my "let me know" gave the impression to reply on my talk page. Anyway; the promotion has been made. Feel free to ask me, or anyone else on the staff if you're unsure of what has to be done with patrolling. It is comprised by two main rights: "marking edits as patrolled" and "rollback". I can detail any of them more if you require it. Have fun. - M E L C H I Z E D E K  (TALK) 04:54, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
Also let us know your name if you want it on the staff page. - M E L C H I Z E D E K  (TALK) 05:07, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
You can call me Pete. • Pete | 10:51, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
Congrats, dude. Welcome to the patroller ranks! It was lonely there. Noble Wrot 05:21, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. • Pete | 10:55, 5 March 2010 (UTC)

Congrats!, Is there any way we can get ahold of you off the wiki when needed. We generally operate out of the skype chat (but it's an IM text chat and you've mentioned before that you dislike IM). Not just for coordination, but sometimes there's things needing to be said that just gives off bad vibes in the talk pages. Axiomist (talk) 05:30, 5 March 2010 (UTC)

Thanks. I understand entirely - I've updated my email address on my preferences page - please use that. • Pete | 10:51, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
Congrats, dude! Keep up the awesomeness! — ciprianotalk 05:34, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. • Pete | 10:51, 5 March 2010 (UTC)

Congrats on making patroller, dude! If you have any questions, feel free to ask one of the staff or even myself. My email is on my userpage if you need to contact me. Mandi Talk 11:49, March 5, 2010 (UTC)

Yes, grats. Can't say I'm surprised, since you're always doing awesome work ;)
Anyways, here's a piece of advice: If you're going to make a change to a page while patrolling, patrol the edit first and then click edit at the "Marked as patrolled" screen. Otherwise, you'll have to reselct the edit from the Recent Changes and patrol it >_>
Also, the Mediawiki:Admin.js script can be helpful to you. It adds a patrol tab while patrolling which allows you to press alt-shift-1 to patrol an edit quickly, and then you can press it again at the "marked as patrolled" screen to return to the unpatrolled recent changes. It makes life SO much easier. To use it, add this to User:Petenu/monobook.js:
If you're using the gumax skin, however, you'll have to use my customized script. I tweaked it to work with the skin ;)
In that case, add this to User:Petenu/gumaxdd.js:
Congrats again!Justin(Talk) 15:17, 5 March 2010 (UTC)

Thanks 3

Haha I'm glad that someone notices. Regards - S.B.44 [T] 00:35, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

Crap - S.B.44 [T] 17:41, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

Exactly. • Pete | 18:17, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

What's uuuuup?

I haven't heard from you in awhile, again. What's going on? Livin' life and stuff?Justin(Talk) 00:39, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

Hey buddy, thanks for dropping by. I've been doing a bit of patrolling, depending upon the nature of what's in the patrol queue, but it's true that I haven't been editing much. I guess that one of my main motivators for contributing was getting the first two sections of the image requests page under control, and now that that's done, it's time for me to ride off into the sunset, so to speak. • Pete | 07:36, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
Awww. Don't leave us! T_T I'm sure there's something else you could do? Maybe like...categories or stubs?Justin(Talk) 20:39, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
Beep beep, back the truck up. Am I hearing that ol' Petenu is thinking of leaving? BLASPHEMY.— ciprianotalk 04:36, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
DUDE... you can't leave. :'(Mandi Talk 06:22, April 24, 2010 (UTC)
Guys, I appreciate the sentiments. All I'm saying is that I played a lot of Zelda in 2009, saw that this wiki needed a fair bit of image work doing, so hung around to lend a hand. I'm not making a formal declaration of intent to leave, but it's just an acknowledgement of the fact that my situation is different this year, so I probably won't be around as much. I would love to hang around and be a more active and permanent fixture in this community, but there's a toxic element which is just too obnoxious and shrill to be ignored. • Pete | 13:07, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

Image Help

Would you be my official image go-to-guy? And you can you make the space around the inside of these handles transparent? http://www.zeldawiki.org/File:ST Purple Potion Model.png There's a spot around the top of the handles on the inside. It's hard to explain. It should look close to this, though: http://www.zeldawiki.org/File:ST Yellow Potion Model.png Thanks, dude. Noble Wrot 02:32, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

Always happy to help, Garrett. I think I know what you're talking about - take a peek and let me know if that fits the bill. • Pete | 08:31, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
Hm, no, that's not it. Compare the Yellow Potion and Purple Potion. The Yellow Potion is correct. Look closely at the inside of the handles. Thank you. Noble Wrot 00:42, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
Gotcha. Sorted. • Pete | 14:10, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

Secret image help

Hay, I need better transparancy on an image, but I want as little people to see it as possible before I release it. Can you give me your email so I can send you the image to make transparent? -- կրակ (խոսել) -- 07:20, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

Certainly. Please send it to 9lhC55xMoop3@meltmail.com in the next 24 hours (the email address expires after that). • Pete | 08:01, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
Okay, check your email now. By the way, I never heard of an email company called meltmail. What is it? Is it hotmail when hotmail gets too hot? XD -- կրակ (խոսել) -- 08:15, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
Heh, cute. No, it's an email forwarding service where the forwarding automatically expires after a set period. Which means that if some kind of email-harvesting spider scrapes this page, the address that it picks up will only work for the next 24 hours. Let's move this discussion to email. • Pete | 08:34, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
Okay, so I emailed you back and I'm sorry, but I don't have the components anymore. -- կրակ (խոսել) -- 09:03, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
Thankyou so much, you greatly helped my project. ^ _^ -- կրակ (խոսել) -- 09:58, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
You are welcome, it was a pleasure to help. • Pete | 11:01, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

Hey, great job with the image transparencies. I was trying to work on a few but you beat me to it. Great job, dude! :)Mandi Talk 16:52, May 7, 2010 (UTC)

Cheers. Feel free to start work on the ones that I haven't done yet. Incidentally, there are a few files in Category:Images Needing Deletion for cleaning up which you might want to have a look at at some point. Ta. • Pete | 16:58, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

WiKirby help

If it isn't too much trouble, can you upload File:Yes check.png and File:X mark.png with the same name over at [1]? -- կրակ (խոսել) -- 22:14, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

It has been done. • Pete | 08:36, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

Why, hello there

My, aren't you a fast one? I check the Tingle Tuner page after I change workspaces for a second and see everything is updated nicely. Thanks for saving me the trouble ^_^ Minion 09:07, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

You're welcome. The timing was quite fortuitous. It's nice to see higher-quality versions of those icons - I was beginning to worry that they were a lost cause, so many thanks for the uploads. • Pete | 09:22, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

I want to have your babies

Where on earth did you get that amazing hi-res, and perfectly colored version of the Deku Link picture? I have spent years looking for the original official artwork of this. Is this the original? Where did you get it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Deku Link 10:16, 12 June 2010

It was uploaded as "Deku_Linktemp.jpg" by User:RAP - I just gave it a transparent background. So I'm not going to hold you to the offer of carrying my offspring. • Pete | 15:17, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

A little curious?

Just wondering where you managed to find the official art of the bosses from Four Swords? They're great finds so I was curious, I had never seen them anywhere until you uploaded them here! Fizzle 19:32, 1 October 2011 (EDT)

The images were originally uploaded as JPEGs by Matt - I just changed the backgrounds from white to transparent. I had to resave them as PNGs which is why it looks like I was the original contributor. • Pete | 05:10, 2 October 2011 (EDT)
