Multiple edits

Hello! I noticed you've been making a lot of edits to the same page over a short time. Doing this puts a large strain on our server and clogs up the recent changes. So instead of saving a lot, use the "show preview" button next to the "save page" button. It'll allow you to view your edit for any mistakes so you don't have to make a lot of fixing edits or additional ones! :) — Hylian King [*] 23:02, 7 October 2012 (UTC)

Oh... I'm sorry. I will make sure to use the preview button more often! Darkness 22:45, 11 October 2012 (UTC)

Signature

Sorry, but I was just wondering how to create a custom signature to use while signing my posts? I followed the instructions, but I couldn't figure out how... sorry to bother you. Darkness 23:33, 28 October 2012 (UTC)

Alright, well, start by copy-pasting this code onto User:Darkness/sig:
[[User:Darkness|<span style="color:#000000; font-family:Arial">—Darkness</span>]]<noinclude>

[[Category:User Signatures|{{PAGENAME}}]]</noinclude>
Every color is represented by a six-digit color code. Black, for example, is 000000. Replace those zeroes with whatever color you want your signature to be. You can find out the codes for every color here. Replace "Arial" with whatever font you want. When you're done, save the page. Then go to User:Darkness/sig2 and copy-paste {{:User:Darkness/sig}} there. Save the page. Then go to "My Preferences" and type {{subst:User:Darkness/sig2}} in the "Signature" box. Make sure the "Treat signature as wikitext (without an automatic link)" box is checked, then save your preferences and voila! Custom signature. — Hylian King [*] 23:21, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
Thank you so much! —Darkness(Talk) 23:31, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

Images

And, sorry to bug you, but are we allowed to add images to the wiki that will be used only for our own user pages? Darkness 15:57, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

Yep, you can! :3 --Dany36 20:32, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
Okay, thank you! So, if I wanted to add a picture to my user page of, say, a piece of fanart I drew of a Legend of Zelda character, I would just upload it the way it's listed in the Help pages? Darkness 20:41, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

External Links

I tried to reply to someone on a talk page. As soon as I tried to save, the site asked what color Link's tunic was. I went back to the page and retyped my response. This time it asked me what Link's main weapon was. Frustrated, I just typed in "sword" and the page went back to normal. What was I doing wrong? Darkness 21:10, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

That is a defense against spammers who wish to post external links. If you weren't posting an external link, then it's because we have a bug in the system. They don't appear often, though, so you shouldn't worry yourself with it. - TonyT S C 22:36, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
What Pakkun said; you didn't have to retype your message. If you had simply answered the question and clicked save page again, your message would have been posted the first time.
For the record, your past few messages on this page should've been been posted at the Milk Bar, or, if you wanted to speak to one of us directly, on our own talk page. If you post your questions on your own talk page, there is a chance that no one will see it (so far Dany, Pakkun and I have because we check the Recent Changes on a regular basis, but that won't always be the case). — Hylian King [*] 22:59, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
Thank you, and I will start asking these things on the Milk Bar and not on my user page. I tried doing this, and I diddn't know we could edit those pages... Sorry! (And, as a note, I didn't post an eternal link - so it was probably a bug.) And thank you all for answering my questions! Darkness 23:24, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
Any time! It's what we're here for. Anyhoo, we'll try to look into fixing that problem. (In any case, the security quesion only shows up for new users. It'll go away once you become autoconfirmed.) — Hylian King [*] 23:30, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
