These are my reviews for the Zelda games I'm playing. I will rate things in each game from 1 to 10.
The Legend of Zelda
The graphics aren't very good, in my opinion. They could have been worse, however. They are especially poor when an area is filled with enemies. Great graphics shouldn't be expected from older games, however. I still just didn't like them in some ways.
I would give it a 9/10, if the dungeons weren't so hard. The gameplay is good and is one of the things I like about the game. The puzzles are neat, the secrets are interesting, and all of it is great. The only thing I didn't like were the dungeons' difficulty. The RPG elements were very good. The items were very good, also.
The music is good. I really like the underworld theme. There wasn't very much music, unfortunately.
The story was good. It may not be much compared to the other storylines, but it was still a great story, and that's why I give it a 9. I like how creative it is.
Overall rating: 6/10
It's an alright game. It's hard, but a walkthrough can solve that. I like the game. If you like classical, NES games, then I would highly recommend this game. I don't play it to often, but I like it and I think it's good, compared to it's sequel.
Zelda II The Adventure of Link
The graphics were a little better than the first game's. But I still don't like them and they are very awkward and poor. Most of the characters are animated funny. Also, Link does not have very good animation as well. The graphics also act funny, when Link walks.
I like the gameplay, but there is one problem: it is too hard. I'm glad that no other Zelda games have followed in it's footsteps. I like the RPG elements, but the dungeons are too complicated, the enemies are too complicated, traveling the overworld is complicated. It still is liked by some people, but I don't like it very much.
The game has poor music. The music doesn't fit the game, and it's just boring. It's one of the worst things about the game. It's also very different from other games in the series. It sounds like an odd combination between Mario music and ordinary RPG music.
The story is too fairy tale-ish. It's not something I like about the game, too much, but it's still alright. It kind of makes you want to play the game, sometimes.
Overall rating: 2/10
It's definitely the worst game in the series. Not much else to say about it... The side-scrolling doesn't really match the series. It's not an authentic Zelda game, in my opinion.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
The game has good graphics, compared to the first and second Zelda games. They rarely ever fail. They are one of the things I like about the game. They aren't the best and I have seen better graphics in games like Super Metroid. But like I said; they're good.
Absolutely amazing gameplay! It's quite complicated around the end, but still, it's an amazing game. I think it has great gameplay, that much of the Zelda series gameplay is based on.
It has great music. I think it's the best classical Zelda music. Dark World theme is good. Boss battle music was good, also.
This game has an amazing story. There's just something unique about it. A very good video game story, in my opinion.
Overall rating: 8/10
I highly recommend it. It's a great and interesting gaming experience. If you are good with Zelda games, then this is a good one.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Well, the graphics were just not too good. They were just lacking something a little bit. I've seen better graphics is N64 games like Majora's Mask. I also don't like the way Link and the Master Sword are animated.
The gameplay was great! It was just amazing and truly unique! It's one of the things that is amazing about the game. The ability to go back and forward through time is cool, but it could be improved in some small ways. The Dungeons are cool, too.
This game has great music! I really liked the Ocarina songs. My personal favorites were the Serenade of Water, the Song of Storms and the Song of Time.
One of the best video game stories can be found in this game. Simply unique and amazing. Definitely one of my most favorite video game stories.
Overall rating: 9/10
This game is truly a classic. Anyone who is a Zelda fan should definitely play this game. I'm not a big fan of the awkward graphics, but it's still worth it.
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
These graphics were good for an older game.
Very unique gameplay.
The Ocarina songs were better in this game.
Dark yet cheery is my favorite kind of story.
Overall rating: 9/10
A great game. Best N64 game I've ever played.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Note: This review is only for the Wii version.
Good graphics. The characters are animated very well. The background, enemies and environment are animated well.
I like the gameplay. The horse controls were made much easier than in OoT and MM. The items are also very neat, with my personal favorite being the Spinner.
I didn't like most of the music that much. But it was good most of the time.
This is definitely one of my most favorite Zelda stories.
Overall rating: 9/10
Great game, overall. It's definitely worth playing.
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
The graphics were aright. They were just simple, DS graphics. The game would start acting funny however, when there were enemy pirates or if a ton of Phantoms started attacking Link.
Well, the sailing was alright, especially when that cyclone slate was obtained. I thought the Temple of the Ocean King was too repetitive. Other then that, the gameplay was fine.
There wasn't too much good music in this game. I thought the sailing music was alright. I also liked the Battle Mode music.
The story was strange and a bit confusing at times. I thought it wasn't completely bad, though. The ending is really good, though.
Overall rating: 5/10
Not a very noteworthy installment in the series. It isn't too good, but it's alright if you have nothing else to do.
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
The graphics were slightly better in this game. There still were some Phantom Hourglass annoyances in this game's graphics, but they were still fine.
The gameplay just doesn't have much freedom. It gets kind of old, as you play through the game. The new items were good, though.
The music in this game was greatly improved from PH. The Spirit Flute songs were awkward. But, The Lokomo songs and Link and Zelda's duet sounded amazing.
It had one of the best stories in the series. I thought that the Tower of Spirits was less annoying. I liked the ending a lot.
Overall rating: 7/10
It's a good game. Some people don't like it that much, but I think it's alright.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is my most favorite Zelda game.
These are the best graphics that I've ever seen in a Zelda game so far.
The gameplay was unique, like Majora's Mask's, but better.
The music was really good.
It was the most epic Zelda story ever.
This game is great. Anyone with a Gamecube or a Wii and a Gamecube controller and Memory Card should get this game.
Link's Crossbow Training
Note: Even though this game is a spin-off of the series, I will review it anyways. I will substitute the music review with a review on the controls.
The graphics are alright. They are similar to the graphics in Twilight Princess.
The gameplay is good.
The controls are just fine. Could be better in some places, but they are still alright.
Overall rating: 7/10
It's a fun and challenging game.
