Under the Bridge

Under the Bridge is a recurring location in the The Legend of Zelda series. As its name suggests, this well-hidden location is situated beneath bridges found somewhere in the lands in which they appear.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Beneath a bridge near Lake Hylia (more specifically, between Link's House and the Eastern Palace) in the Light World can be found a small piece of land on which a camper has set up a tent and bonfire. If Link talks to him, he recognizes Link as a friend and gives him an Empty Bottle to aid him in his quest. Directly outside the area in the Dark World is a small patch of shallow water, on which Link can use the Magic Mirror to return to the same location. The area can also be accessed by swimming north from the island containing the Pond of Happiness.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening

Beneath a bridge to the south of Catfish's Maw in Martha's Bay can be found a Fisherman aboard a small boat. As part of the quest for the Magnifying Lens, Link can give him the Fishing Hook that was given to him by Grandma Ulrira, in exchange for whatever the Fisherman's next catch will be. After a mighty struggle with his catch, the Fisherman pulls aboard a Necklace and gives it to Link. This Necklace can then be traded to Martha of Martha's Bay for a Mermaid's Scale.

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures

Beneath a bridge in the Lake Hylia stage is a small piece of land with a large rock. When the Links discover the area, they remove the rock to continue further but are surprised to discover Tingle trapped beneath the rock. Tingle thanks them for rescuing him and tells them of his quest to find Force Gems. He then proceeds to fly away in his balloon telling the Links not to follow him.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

Under the bridge over the river flowing from Lake Hylia to Hyrule Castle is a small piece of land where the Bird Lover lives. He found a Bottle, but having no use for it he will give it to Link. The area is considered part of the Eastern Palace territory.
