The Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle is the organisation that is responsible for video game ratings in Germany and parts of Austria where they enforce the Jugendschutzgesetz (JuSchG) Protection of Young Persons Act. In Australia it is the Australian Classification Board (ACB), in Europe it is the Pan-European Game Information (PEGI) and in North America it is the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB).

Image Name Meaning
0 Games without age restrictions which are directly aimed at children and young persons and adults.
6 These games mostly involve family-friendly activities that may be more exciting and competitive.
12 These games feature more of a competitive edge. Game scenarios contain little violence, enabling players to distance themselves sufficiently from events.
16 Games approved for children aged 16 and above may include acts of violence.
18 These games almost always involve violent game concepts and frequently generate dark a threatening atmosphere. This makes them suitable for adults only.
