Tri is a companion of Princess Zelda in Echoes of Wisdom. They serves as Zelda's guide after her unlawful imprisonment at the hands of Tecuums who are impersonating King of Hyrule, General Wright, and Minister Lefte.
Description[]
Tri is a small creature with several yellow triangles above their head, representing how many objects Princess Zelda can summon when she uses the Tri Rod. Tri's top half is yellow and has a point on the top of their head. Their left eye is a simplistic black dot, with their right eye resembling a flower. Tri's mouth also appears as a black dot, and a straight line appears to connect it to their right eye. Tri's lower body is green and has two cyan legs.
Overview[]
Tri is a small yellow Tris who first appears when Zelda escapes the Suthorn Ruins. After Zelda is captured in Hyrule Castle, Tri reveals their true form and gives her the Tri Rod, a tool that lets her summon copies called Echoes. Tri explains that Tris are attempting to fix the rifts across Hyrule and helps Zelda enter the Still World to rescue the King who has since been replaced. At first, only Zelda can see Tri, but others can see them after being rescued from a rift.
Tri and Zelda go on to save the King of Hyrule. They then travel to different regions to free the Golden Goddesses, each trapped within a rift. Each goddess grants Zelda a sanction, allowing her to eventually recover the Prime Energy. However, before Zelda can claim it in the Eternal Forest, a false Zelda named Tekom appears and seizes the Prime Energy first, causing it to split into three pieces. The Triforce of Power ends up with the false Zelda and later with Null, while Zelda receives the Triforce of Wisdom, and Link gains the Triforce of Courage. With Tri’s assistance, Zelda and Link confront Null, the true source of the rifts and eventually defeat him. After the battle, the Triforce is fully reclaimed. With their mission complete and the rifts mended, Tri returns to the Still World.
Trivia[]
- Tri likely derived its name from the Triforce, but to avoid confusion, the Triforce was renamed to Prime Energy.
