Treasure Charts are a special type of Sea Chart found by Link in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker as he sails around The Great Sea. These charts are usually found as random treasure or rewards in dungeons or from other quests and mini-dungeons. Locations of sunken treasure chests are marked on the charts and, using the Grappling Hook, Link can fish for them from the King of Red Lions. There are 41 Treasure Charts in all and most contain either Rupees or a Piece of Heart. They will cause the treasure they lead to to emit a tower of light to help in finding the treasures location. Special charts called Triforce Charts also exist and while their function is the same, their purpose is much greater.

Appearances

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Treasure Charts are usually found as treasure in dungeons or from other side-quests as a reward. Locations of sunken Treasure Chests are marked on the charts, and by using the Grappling Hook, Link can fish for them from the King of Red Lions. The 41 Treasure Charts in the game may lead to chests containing Rupees, a Piece of Heart, or a special Sea Chart. The Treasure Charts will cause the treasure they lead to to emit a tower of light to help Link find the treasures' locations.

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

Treasure Charts are also found in The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. These charts lead to chests that usually contain Ship Parts and Sand of Hours to be added to the Phantom Hourglass. The chests can be retrieved at the location corresponding to a red X on the Treasure Charts by using the Salvage Arm on the S.S. Linebeck.
