Not to be confused with Cyclones or Updrafts.

Tornadoes are recurring objects in The Legend of Zelda series.[1] Tornadoes go unnamed in Zelda's Adventure.

Location and uses[]

The Minish Cap[]

Tornados are three large vortices that appear at Veil Springs, atop the Cloud Tops, and inside the Palace of Winds. They propel Link upwards into the Sky, allowing him to reach the Cloud Tops, the Palace of Winds, and the Gyorg Pair respectively.

The Crimson Cyclones that appear in the Cloud Tops function identically to Tornadoes in that they launch Link upwards into a new area, but they are smaller and take the appearance of red Updrafts.

Spinoff appearances[]

Zelda's Adventure[]

ZA Tornado Sprite

A few Tornadoes appear only in the Shrine of Air. They are small moving twisters that wander aimlessly. Unlike most obstacles, Tornadoes cannot be dispatched with the Wand, and Tornadoes can only be quelled by casting the Calm Spell on it three times.[2] Tornadoes can inflict a Heart of damage on Zelda, or just half a Heart if she has five or six Celestial Signs.
