"I CAN GIVE YOU MOST POWERFUL MAGIC"
Wise Man

The Thunder Spell is a spell learned in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. Of all the spells in the game, it places the greatest drain on Link's Magic Meter, nearly double that of any other spell. The Thunder Spell is also the most powerful spell in the game; it does high damage to every enemy on screen. It is also necessary to defeat the Thunderbird.

Link can learn the Thunder Spell from the Wise Man in Old Kasuto, but he only teaches it to him if he has found all the Magic Containers in the game.

Trivia

The spell gets its name from a mistranslation from Japanese, which does not distinguish between thunder and lightning.
