Overview
Located north of Great Hyrule Forest, the area is surrounded by a murky lake and shrouded in darkness that makes navigation impossible without a light source. The ruins can be entered from any side, though doing so will put Link at the entrance of the ruins. The entrance is located on the eastern side, connected by a bridge near a bird totem.
Upon entering, a voice speaks to Link and informs him of a Shrine deep within the ruins.[1] However, he will have to navigate the darkness within in order to reach it. This begins the "Shrouded Shrine" Shrine Quest. Near the beginning is a Torch that is needed if Link does not have one.
As Link makes his way through the darkness, he will find many bird-like Torches that he can light. These Torches serve as hints to find the way through.
