The Legend of Zelda: The Misadventures of Link is a series of 12 short videos available exclusively on the Nintendo Video service for the Nintendo 3DS.
General Information[]
The videos served both as entertainment and as advertisements for The Wind Waker HD and A Link Between Worlds. The title and logo of the series is likely a play on The Adventure of Link. The first episode, "Tunnel Vision," appeared on November 1, 2013, with each new episode appearing six days after the previous one. The last episode, "Pearl of Pain!," was released on January 6, 2014.
The Misadventures of Link was based on Link's adventures from The Wind Waker HD. Despite initial reports that suggested that the series were to be animated, much like The Legend of Zelda TV series, as many articles used the word cartoon to describe the series,[citation needed] it was actually a machinima series. While most machinimas are fanmade, The Misadventures of Link was an official Nintendo production, so The Wind Waker HD game engine was used with custom camera angles and facial expressions, although some episodes were just in-game cutscenes with slight modifications.
