Revision as of 20:30, 1 January 2012

Please, notice that for some reason I don't know, the name of some characters differ from country to country. Here I provide some examples:

1. America-English: Byrne 2. America-French: Fraisil 3. America-Spanish: Diego

4. Europe-English: Staven 5. Europe-French: Traucmahr 6. Europe-Spanish: Táligo 7. Europe-Italian: Tristalpin

So, take in count using the versions of the names. Like this: Byrne/Staven is a character...

References

I know sources are scarce at this point, but I'm hoping we start adding at least one, preferably more references with this game. I figure it will be easier to do it as we get info on ST; rather than having articles sit unsourced forever. About all of the other articles without sources I'm thinking a handful of dedicated editors is the only way to get that happening. User:Axiomist/sig 03:26, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

yeah, we'll get some references into em as more information about the game comes out. Gerudosrhot 03:29, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
It can be done now, after all you built the article with some source. User:Axiomist/sig 03:36, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
i been doing it off of what i read in the news about the game. Gerudosrhot 03:39, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
I added one in. It should suffice for now. Alter  {T C B H } 06:12, November 8, 2009 (UTC)
Exactly, Gerudosrhot, now use where you found that news as references.-- Green_Tunic (Talk) 06:29, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

Demon King=Ganon?

1. Ganon is always fought in the first game. Except the Minish cap and the four swords series got it backwards. 2. Link defeated ganon and The demon king. The demon king never appears to have been beaten in any game unless he is ganon. 3. In relation to hyrule ganon is underground/underwater. 4. Ganon is often refered to as the demon king. 5. Characters often only have semi accurate backstories. 6. He resembles train-ganon Ganondox 03:57, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

Hmmm, this is interesting, but I tend to think he's a different character from Ganon b/c it's said he ruled over the land when Link and Tetra found it. Ganon was turned to stone and buried beneath the waves of the Great Sea some time before that. That's not to say it's not possible that Ganon's spirit may somehow have reincarnated itself as the Demon King persay, but I need more information about the character to really judge whether or not I personally feel it could be true or not. I don't think we've seen the total end of Ganon in this timeline though, b/c if we've learned anything about Ganon at all throughout the whole series, it's that death does not apply to him the same way it does to most. Link87 04:02, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
The game's not out yet, and we won't know until then whether Ganon comes back or not. Demon King's backstory is different from Ganon's, and Ganon died in TWW. Ganondorfdude11 05:08, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
As I noted above GD11. Looks like I was right about what the king meant at the end of TWW and about Zelda and Link's intent of making a new Hyrule, lol. Nah, just teasing man, though I am pleased to know that Hyrule will now live on. Link87 05:10, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

The Spanish-language version of the official Spirit Tracks website calls the Demon King "Mallard," which is a type of train. Even though this probably won't be his English name, it's confirmation enough that this is a new villain and not Ganon resurrected. Ganondorfdude11 06:41, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

That actually proved nothing, as the image of him shows that he looks like what Ganon would look like if he was a train. So we know he is a train and might be ganon in his latest and awesomest form. Ganondox 01:26, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

I don't think that there's much similarity between the train's appearance and Ganon. The only possibility I see is his spirit is in the train, and Zelda's body is supposed to bring the "real" Ganon back. Besides, he's at the botom of the sea. Or was, for that matter. Alter  {T C B H } 02:32, November 11, 2009 (UTC)
According to Nintendo Power he's not Ganon. I didn't edit anything yet because I'm waiting for GoNintendo to update after I emailed them. That way we can have a source.-- Green_Tunic (Talk) 02:35, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

ZI finished there boss guide. MALLADUS'S TRUE FORM IS A GIANT BLUE BOAR! User:Ganondox/sig 23:10, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Yes, in fact what we thought was Malladus, the large train, is not at all, so this will take quite a bit of revisioning.User:Steven/sig 23:44, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

The boar form also has red hair, like Ganon. THis is way too much like ganon to not have a relation. User:Ganondox/sig 00:26, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

Then why doesn't the game say it's Ganon? Note that the face looks completely different from Ganon's. He has a human nose and a moustache. Malladus looks more like Satan than he does Ganon. Why would Nintendo specifically deny that Malladus is Ganon? I suppose all eyeball monsters have to have some relation to Vaati now, right? Ganondorfdude11 07:27, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

He looks more like Cole than satan and more like ganon than satan. Also he looks a lot more like ganon than all those eyemonsters look like Vaati. (except Dethl, but Dethl was made before Vaati.). Also they didn't deny that he was Ganon. Nintendo power said he was apparently not Ganon. Maybe he is Ganon and he just has a new name because of the area. User:Ganondox/sig 15:31, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

Since the game is already out in stores, how about you guys play it, and figure out if Malladus is Ganon or not! Lets settle this discussion by actually playing the game =) User:Cipriano 119/sig 15:39, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
Good call Cip! Link87 15:42, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

I think the similarities deserve a little more than a single short sentence in the trivia. User:Ganondox/sig 20:44, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

They aren't the same, no, it isn't even implied. It seems merely they took Ganon's LoZ color scheme, and applied it to Dark Beast Ganon. Also, for clarification, and this does need to be added to the article, this is not Malladus's true form. It is him combined with Cole, since his true form is merely the Spirit Head with the appearance of a skull.User:Steven/sig 20:59, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

More similarities to Tp Ganon: 1. He posseses zelda. 2. A charather sacrifices themselve to safe swomeone from the big spirit head form. 3. Zelda helps you with light arrows. 4. There is a gem on his for head. Nintendo was very lazy when thinking of a knew original fight and character. User:Ganondox/sig 00:28, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

Demon King=...Big Ass Train?

Any chance that picture could be fake or wrong or something? PLEASE tell me it's not a train...>_<Justin(Talk)

That's him. Everyone who's played the latest previews of the game is confirming it.Reign 22:56, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
Well, it looks like we all know that the picture was wrong at this point. Thank goodness. Alter  '{T C B H } 01:16, January 2, 2010 (UTC)

Redirect thing

Hey, do you guys think we should make it so when osmoene searches Ganontrain it comes here? Ganontrain is just a fanname, yes, but a lot of people are calling Malladus that. Just a thoughtReign 23:01, 25 November 2009 (UTC)

Well I guess it doesn't hurt to have a few relevant redirects. Add it and any other very common fan name redirects. User:Axiomist/sig 23:37, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
I'll go ahead and add it, but I can't say I've ever heard that title. Alter  {T C B H } 00:44, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

Now we need to change all the redirects...User:Ganondox/sig 00:28, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

It's not very important to do so, our bot can fix all of the double redirects in one go on Dec 12th. User:Axiomist/sig 04:02, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

The problem isn't that here double redirects; the problem is that they are redirecting to the wrong article. User:Ganondox/sig 22:39, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

No they aren't, they all still link directly to Malladus, regardless.User:Steven/sig 22:41, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

I know, and that's the problem. Most of them should redirect to Demon Train.

Majora Eyes

Someone keeps deleting my edit in the trivia area about Malladus' eyes (in his spirit form) resembling the eyes of Majora's Mask. Will someone please stop that, because what I am saying is true, his eyes really look like the eyes of Majora!

We only keep reverting your edit because it is for the most part wishful thinking than an actual fact. They may have similar coloration, but they are in no shape or form related - you are comparing the eyes of a wind mage, a mask, and a bodiless demon, all of which have nothing in common, or have been proven to connect in any way. No hard feelings, man! =) User:Cipriano 119/sig 04:48, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

Fire Emblem trivia

The section of trivia which refers to Fire Emblem should be deleted. Malladus is just a minstranslation of the japanese name which should be translated as Mallard, because in Japan all the charachters have train-related names. Also, that was wrote by a guy in an attempt of insult TLoZ by calling them thieves. What do you think? Delete or not?SilverArcher 07:10, 12 July 2011 (EDT)
