Spoiler warning: Plot or ending details follow.

If Link talks to Teebo during the day, he will tell Link he found something and offer to show it to him. Teebo leads Link to what appears to be an old demonic-like Goddess Statue. Teebo mentions the Statue looks like the one in front of the chief's house and wonders what it is. By praying in front of it, he discovers that it is the Horned Statue, a demon who was sealed by Hylia long ago as punishment for making life-for-money deals with mortals, and this unlocks "The Statue's Bargain" side quest. After completing this side quest, Teebo will ask Link if he was talking to the statue, and will find it cool to be able to talk to it.
