Sword and Shield Maze[]

There's a problem with Sword and Shield Maze- not only does the article not exist, it doesn't even exist as a redirect! And when you go to search for it (to create it as a new page), it takes you directly here! How are we supposed to create the article? Dinosaur bob (talk) 15:37, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

It's here: Sword & Shield Maze. The problem is that once you put an & in the title of any page, it breaks the link and everything after the & sign is lost, which is why it will point you to Sword. All links to it must be via the redirect Sword and Shield Maze. --Adam (talk) 18:32, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks again for all your help! Dinosaur bob (talk) 19:52, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
In case someone (like me) is confused by this again, perhaps there should be a link to Sword and Shield Maze in this article? --Douken (talk) 23:08, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
The above statements that are crossed out are no longer valid. An update to the Wiki's software several months ago has since eliminated this problem.Matt (Talk) 15:23, July 21, 2008 (UTC)
The site keeps redirecting to the Article Sword Whats going on? Onyx (talk) 00:19, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Fighter's Sword[]

I've redirected the article to its section here in keeping with the rest, but also added a query on the official name of this sword. I couldn't find any reference to this name in text dumps, but maybe it is given somewhere in-game that I'm not aware of? Adam [ talk ] 07:59, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

This is an old question, but just to confirm, it is the name given in the official guide, along with the names for the Master Sword upgrades. Fizzle (talk) 10:32, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

Add Zant in "Enemies Using Swords"[]

I noticed that Zant was not listed amongst the enemies in the zelda series to use a sword, while in fact he has used three different swords, though one was not used directly against link, (the one he used to revive stallard) he used two blades during his fight with link, and seeing as how gannondorf himself is on the list I don't think he can be counted out for being a major character.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Superinsomniac 23:48, 12 September 2009 {{{2}}}

Good catch! Next time you spot something, don't be afraid to add it in yourself Triforce (T C) 23:16, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the tip, I am going to add Igos du Ikana, Odowla, and garo to the page.

I've also noticed that though there is a list of enemies who have wielded swords on this page, there is not a list of (non ememy) characters on this page, such as Rusl, Talo, Zelda (though she is mentioned) seeing as how this page is about the swords in the zelda series, I figure such a list should be added, however, I am not sure where the list should be placed.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Superinsomniac 23:48, 12 September 2009 {{{2}}}

I think there should be a few more pictures on this page[]

I think this page could be featured article material, but it needs one improvement: more pictures! Am I the only one who thinks this? Oh, and I couldn't add pictures if my life depended on it, I think a Chuchu would know more about coding and that sort of stuff than I. So, anyone who can, add more pictures! Important pictures, irrelevant pictures! Big pictures, small pictures! PokeZelda6664 19:10, 15 June 2011 (EDT)

Hey, you and me both. I fixed up most of this page (believe it or not, I never finished!), but I never got to making an entire gallery for the darn thing. I think I will get to it soon. Noble Wrot 00:41, 5 September 2011 (EDT)

Standard of Capitalization[]

As I was editing the Sword page, I noticed that sword is sometimes used as a proper noun and sometimes used as a common noun. Which should be standard throughout the article? Linebeck IV 20:30, 23 December 2012 (UTC)

I accidentally posted this twice (I have no idea how). I'm not able to remove the extra text, so I'm just leaving this here as an explanation of sorts. Linebeck IV 20:35, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
General rule with things like this is to go with "sword" when referring to the weapons in general, "Sword" for any sword that is specifically just called Sword (such as the original game's sword), and keep it capitalized in sword names, of course. Fizzle (talk) 21:18, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
I deleted the duplicate for you, but basically ditto for what Fizzle said. Though, I personally treat the names of all items as proper nouns. - TonyT S C 21:31, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
I do as well usually and it's generally considered good practice, but things like arrows and bombs are often referred to in a more vague way even in the games, so variability is okay. Bombs in particular bug me though since I'm never sure whether to capitalize or not for the basic variety. I just say do what the games do when it comes to capital letters and such. Fizzle (talk) 21:39, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
I've edited the page with the proper stylistic techniques in mind. However, as I was doing so, I noticed a lot of grammatical errors. I fixed as many as I could find, but if you see any more, let me know or fix them yourselves. Also, the page is a bit disorganized and incongruous, and I'm wondering if it should have a more major restructuring. *groans* Linebeck IV 22:21, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
There's also a broken citation I don't know how to fix. Linebeck IV 22:45, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
Uh, in cases like this, I think it's just better to treat the instances as proper nouns. Grammatical rules are nice, neat and all, but when it comes to items, the Zelda series rarely follows it. Since the wiki is written in-universe, we tend to follow it in that sense. - TonyT S C 23:16, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for fixing my grammar mistakes! I can't believe I used all those parentheses—I was pretty tired at the time, if I remember correctly. Also, I'm fine with using Link's Swords as proper nouns, but a distinction should be made in instances like sword arm, and in cases when a generic sword is being referred to. I'm confused, though, as to why Grass and Switches are captialized, but pots is not. Linebeck IV 02:18, 24 December 2012 (UTC)

8-Bit Wooden Sword[]

Shouldn't it be noted somewhere on this page that the 8-Bit Wooden Sword from Hyrule Warriors uses the design of this Sword from TLoZ? Hylian pi (talk) 21:41, 6 October 2017 (UTC)
