Whew, I'm glad we reached a consensus on the theory case, or I guess this page would contain a theory as to how it is really the Master Sword...

Does the sword ever appear to be corroded or to be split into its three components at any point in the game (after it has been forged, of course (unless it started out as the Phantom Sword before the game began and was split before the game... ))? I just beat it... first time... and I don't remember that... ?

It can be assumed that it corrodes because there was an original Phantom Sword, but because of aging, it corroded and what-not, and that's why Link doesn't get it right away
You could just post on my talk page. I know almost EVERYTHING about PH (except reedle=freedle). okay. The Phantom Sword is the only sword powerful enough to defeat Bellum and the Phantoms controlled by bellum. When Oshus (Ocean king) HAD the sword, he used as a "blade of evil's bane" (aka, master sword). It looked just like the master sword, too. When bellum came into the picture, Oshus was caught off guard, and couldn't use the sword. Bellum broke the sword, and it split into 3 metals. The hilt turned into sand, which some formed glass to make the Phantom Hourglass. After that, they found link, and thats what started the whole adventure.
that can only happen if you have goten the Swordsman's Scroll which allows Link to be able to do a Hurricane Spin.
It is stated on the Smash Wikis that this is the sword used by Toon Link in Brawl, should we mention that on the article.--DrNefarious (talk) 11:17, January 17, 2012 (UTC)
But he doesn't...I mean he clearly uses The Wind Waker's version of the Master Sword. It has the same shade of blue, gem and even the triforce design. If I recall correctly it even as a little glow to it like in The Wind Waker. It might be in an alternate costume since I haven't memorized all the designs of all characters in Brawl but I'm quite sure he uses the Master Sword in his default and NES based costumes. What Smash Wiki are you referring to anyway? OniDark Link 19:00, January 17, 2012 (UTC)
Both of them and the Smash Dojo.--DrNefarious (talk) 02:32, January 18, 2012 (UTC)
Except that none of them seem to even mention the Phantom Sword, as far as I can tell. Is there a particular page you were looking at which stated this? Either way, though, it's not the Phantom Sword he's using (unless it's an alternate costume like Oni said, but I doubt it), so if other wikis say it is they're simply wrong. Compare the hilts, they're not the same. XykebYvolixZraliv 02:57, January 18, 2012 (UTC)
I can't find anything vaguely Phantom Sword related on either of the smash wikis I know about, the Dojo, or the Trophy information from Brawl. I can check all the alt colors when I unlock him myself but I don't see any evidence for this in the first place. Could you provide a link to the places you noticed this on and specific directions on where it's mentioned?--FierceDeku 03:01, January 18, 2012 (UTC)
While I haven't checked myself I am 99.999999% sure that none of Toon Link's alternate outfits use the Phantom Sword. -MinishLink 03:01, January 18, 2012 (UTC)
I'd still like to hear where this info was found, if for no other reason than fixing the wikis and being made aware of the smash wikis I apparently don't know about.--FierceDeku 03:12, January 18, 2012 (UTC)
