Why don't just make a category for rings? --Icytriforc
- That could work. Are you volunteering to go through all the ring pages and change the category from Jewels to Rings? :) --Adam 01:49, 14 January 2008 (EST)
- Now that I've categorized all the rings, should this page be replaced with one entitled "Magic Ring"? --Douken 16:34, 10 February 2008 (EST)
- I've moved Ring Appendix to Magic Ring, and removed the list of rings which can now be found in Category:Magic Rings. —Adam [ talk ] 16:43, 11 February 2008 (EST)
wealth ring[]
This ring is called "rupee ring" in my American version. I'm going to create the page and I'm asking if someone that knows how could redirect it to the Wealth Ring Article. Also I attempted to classify the rings on the categories page, but I suspect I'm going about it the wrong way/Axiomist 07:58, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
One ring missing[]
It's not really a BIG deal, but the unappraised ring sprite could go at the top of the page. Axiomist (talk) 12:41, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
- I totally agree with you, pal from two years in the past! In this moment I'm editing from a Wii, so I can't upload images, but that's a needed image I think!--Kombatgod 20:43, 24 January 2011 (EST)
ring number[]
Rings are here sorted by name, but wouldn't be better to have them in the order of the in-game list? If you think of it, that's the official order!
You may argue that this is a better way to search a ring, but I think that nobody's ever going to search for a particular ring. It is more likely that people are going to check for what rings are missing in their list, don't you think? Eventually, to search for a ring, there's the 'search' button in the browser.
Anyway, if we're going to keep thing this way, the numbers in the list are missing informations in this page, so we should at least add the Number in Vasu's list column...--Kombatgod 20:19, 24 January 2011 (EST)
- They're already set to order that way. On the table there are some buttons that look like two arrows by each heading, clicking those sorts each column. The first one, the one with the images of the rings, will sort by the order in the game. It was done this way for basically the same reason you just mentioned, completing the list in the game. Since they were not directly numbered in the game, the images worked, it saved us making another column, which we really can't have because it's too wide as it is. You could click that and visually run down the list seeing the rings directly. Probably we could mention this on the page itself, to clear up confusion.Matt (Talk) 04:11, January 25, 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, ok, good! Yeah, another column may be too much, but actually they do are numbered in the games' list, like for example Friendship Ring (n.01)...
- Anyway I underestimated the page.--Kombatgod 06:44, 25 January 2011 (EST)
- Actually, they were numbered in the games. Just talk to Vasu. I also don't see the harm in explicitly stating the number. Sure, I can scroll down and pick it off visually, but if I'm new to the game, or I need one particular number, I'd prefer a list of numbers. I don't think an extra column with 2 characters per row will hurt. I've even edited to show you. Looks nice at 1024x768, and I don't think most people use such a low resolution anymore. — Abdul [T] [C] [S] 10:58, 25 January 2011 (EST)
Rang Ring[]
While its in-game description and its description here say it raises Boomerang damage in general, I'm wondering if we shouldn't note that it really only affects the Magical Boomerang. Thus far I haven't been able to find an enemy that does take damage from the regular Boomerang but also isn't killed by it in one hit (e.g. Keese). Am I wrong? Does someone know of such an enemy? I know there are enemies where the Magical Boomerang's damage matters (e.g. Gibdos take no damage from the regular Boomerang and take a non-lethal amount from the Magical Boomerang). --Osteoderm Jacket 22:41, 26 July 2012 (EDT)
Fist Ring vs. Expert's Ring[]
This page claims that to use the Expert's Ring, both the A-button and the B-button slots need to be left empty. So far, so good. In my own copies of the games, I cannot punch with the Expert's Ring unless both item slots are empty. The page then goes on to say that the Fist Ring only requires one item slot, the one you use for punching, to be open. This would make sense, since the Expert's Ring would then be requiring an additional limitation on your abilities in exchange for more attacking power, but it doesn't agree with my own experience. When I equip the Fist Ring, I cannot punch unless both item slots are empty, just as with the Expert's Ring. Is there something specific I need to do to make this work, or does the page just have an incorrect claim about how the Fist Ring works for some reason? --Osteoderm Jacket 05:04, 27 July 2012 (EDT)
Rupee Ring[]
I have done some observations about where to find giant rupees by digging more frequently. This is useful to obtain the 10.000 rupees ring. However I have no idea if such information belongs here, and if it does, where should it be written. Briefly I am referring to the initial areas of the Yoll Graveyard. Also, I have no footage to prove anything, and that could be a problem. Also, I have not gathered enough information to claim that Yoll Graveyard is the best area to achieve that. There might be an another one anywhere in the Oracle Series.Gomess 512 (talk) 03:36, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
