I actually remember going to the Equipment Screen with the "Kokiri" Sword, and I remember the weapon actually being called the Hero's Sword by the game. Actually, looking through the game's text dump, the sword is called the Kokiri Sword throughout the game. Here's the text from the equipment screen:
"Kokiri Sword - The trusty sword you're familiar with that's from Kokiri Forest."
That's straight from the Majora's Mask text dump. "Hero's Sword" doesn't appear anywhere in the game. There's a Hero's Shield and a Hero's Bow, but that's it. --Ando (Talk) 17:38, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Four Sword speculation out of date

The timeline revealed in the Hyrule Historia makes it implausible that the Kokiri Sword is the Four Sword, as Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask both take place in between Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures. During this time, the Four Sword was at the Four Sword Sanctuary keeping Vaati sealed. In order for the Kokiri Sword to be the Four Sword, it would have to have been drawn at some point prior to Ocarina of Time, which would have released Vaati and left him unsealed until some time after Majora's Mask. (Unless he was sealed again by some other method before Ocarina of Time and then broke loose again and was resealed with the Four Sword sometime between Majora's Mask and Four Swords Adventures, although this is a highly complex explanation with no evidence for it, like Vaati remaining unsealed.) As there is no indication whatsoever that anything like this has happened, it can be assumed that the Kokiri Sword is not the Four Sword. The theory section need not necessarily be removed altogether, but it should be rewritten and marked non-canon in accordance with its out-of-date status.--Osteoderm Jacket 06:17, 18 January 2012 (EST)

If you say so. I haven't had much contact with Zelda fan sites other than this place, so I don't know if this is a common idea or not. Theres no way the Kokori Sword and the Four Sword are the same blade. The Four Sword's hilt is goldish orange while the Kokiri Sword's hilt is brown. The Four Sword has a jewel at the bottem of it's hilt while the Kokori Sword does not. The Four Sword is larger than the Kokori Sword and I don't think they would leave a blade of evils bane inside an unprotected basic looking treasure chest like they did with the Kokori Sword. --Vaati The Wind Demon 11:52, 18 January 2012 (EST)

This isn't about whether the idea is canonical. As you and I have both pointed out, it very obviously isn't canonical. It's about whether it's a common or influential enough bit of fan speculation to continue to be on this page with a non-canon disclaimer added. As I don't have much contact with the Zelda fan community in general, I don't know how common of a notion it is and I would like input about that.--Osteoderm Jacket 12:09, 18 January 2012 (EST)
