Should this version of Rauru deserve its own page?[]

Every other character on this wiki has had all iterations of that character remain on one page. Why should this version of Rauru be any different? I feel like there should be consistency in the policy, or it will be confusing for users of the wiki trying to find certain characters. SakuDio (talk) 04:30, 30 May 2023 (UTC)

  • It's a bit of a different case here. Characters like Beedle or Impa generally have a similar appearance, role, race (always Hylian, Sheikah), there's really not a lot connecting OoT!Rauru and ToTK!Rauru. One is a Sage that hangs in Temples and turns into an owl, the other is apparently a King of Hyrule and dragon-sheep...thing. Granted, OoT!Rauru didn't have much to do in OoT, you wouldn't recognize them as the same character if their names differed.

Rauru's appearance[]

So there was this bit about how Rauru's personality and behavior contrasted against his "demonic appearance" and I was moved to get rid of it. Sorry to be "that guy" on this but that's a judgement that I am highly doubtful most players would actually agree with. At best it's controversial in a way that observations about his kindness and such are not. "Demonic" is a strong word one ought to associate with such things as Gloom Hands and Calamity Ganon, not a tall anthromorphic goat.

Putting aside how convinced I am that my admittedly subjective opinion is correct, it should be a given that a wiki is for facts and truths widely agreed upon. A judgement on appearance like that one shouldn't have a place in a good wiki.

Incidentally, Mineru's entry did not have an equivalent judgement. I'm not wrong on this, hopefully the edit sticks.

Thank you for making that edit. If you see something on the site that doesn't reflect the encyclopedic intention of Wikis, you are more than welcome to change it. When in doubt, refer to the Guidelines:Main article for assistance.
Additionally, any time you contribute to a Talk page, you are expected to add your signature by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your post. That way it's easier for everyone to know who's talking. Good luck and have fun! Lordgeorge16 (talk) 20:19, 20 May 2024 (UTC)
