I know Gustaf's Identity but I must get past the old arguments first

The debate I read is fruitless. The Pro Pre-Ocarina TMC placement camp is ultimately correct that, in the least; the existence of Hyrule pre "civil war" could have been a Kingdom of Hyrule that did not include the unification of Zora, Gurdo and Gorgon. I scoff at the idea of it being called a civil war since we do not know if these races were ever part of Hyrule Pre unification War. But that debate has nothing to do with who Gustaf is any more then the core point of the debate.

Let me query, I am asking for clarification not a debate, I need a clear simple answer. How does Gustaf having been a King a long time ago have anything to do with when the game takes place?

Once I can clear this up I have three facts that tell us who Gustaf is, and where it takes place. I'd still put it under theory, but a good one. --Linkactionhero 17:16, 25 January 2011 (EST)

The entire debate centers around how long ago Gustaf was King. The implications are different if "a long time ago" means thousands of years before Ocarina of Time, or if it means during the Unification War, or some point in between or irrelevant to Ocarina of Time. No matter what conclusion anyone comes to, there are no solid game facts to conclude much of anything other than Gustaf's ascension to the Hylian throne "a long time ago". Frankly, what exists in the trivia section right now is not only representative of the community's view on the topic at large, but it is as concise as the issue can get, without going too far into the realm of imagination. I'd advise that you take whatever theories you have on the subject to the community's forums, where the Zelda fanbase can pick it apart, as they have for what exists in the trivia at present. Thanks! Well at least none regarding King Gustaf anyway. It doesn't rule out other reasons. But talk like that is better suited for a forum.Matt ^(Talk) 06:41, January 27, 2011 (UTC)

All I'm saying is that you aren't going to find any concrete evidence either way, in-game. Because in-game evidence is the prime backbone of successful theories, the lack of it forces one to create a theory based on speculation alone. User:Cipriano555/sig 01:50, 27 January 2011 (EST)
