What exactly happend when the player frees Pinkle. Somebody said that the scene activated after that is what made it get the rating 12+.--Toon Link 12:41, 22 March 2008 (EDT)

Even if it's not released in the US, will it play on a US DS?Axiomist 18:22, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
Yes, it will play. The Nintendo DS is region free, meaning that it will run a Nintendo DS game purchased anywhere in the world. This excludes China, since only a Chinese DS will correctly display Chinese characters.--Matt 02:58, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Yah, it says Tingle is middle aged. Does 35 count as middle-aged? (I think of 50-65 when i hear middle aged.) --Valhelm 7:33, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

I don't see much about Gameplay or the whole story in the page-most of it is made of listings. I know it's probably hard to get much info-considering it never came out in the US-will it ever come out in America? ZeldaGirl96 02:16, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Japanese Name[]

Umm... I think that the Japanese name for this game is really, really wrong. Why? Because the Japanese on the page actually means: "Mogitate Metal Alchemist: Dual Sympathy". This is way, way beyond embarrassing. This must be fixed.Matt (Talk) 04:11, July 23, 2008 (UTC)

...what Japanese are you reading exactly? Let's BREAK IT DOWN !!
もぎたて
Actually, I have no idea what this part means. Um. MOVING ON
チンクルの
Essentially, "Tingle's" (Tingle's name in Japanese is Chinkuru, so technically it could also be translated as Tinkle. You see why that didn't happen).
ばら色
More or less, "Rose-colored".
ルッピーランド
"Ruppiirando". Rupeeland.
That's copied directly from the article and broken down. I've no idea where you got your Japanese from there, but the translation you gave was actually the title for the DS Fullmetal Alchemist game, only with "full" replaced with "mogitate". Reeeeally not sure what happened there. —Ando (talk) 05:40, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
And I have no idea how you didn't understand me. I was quite clear about which Japanese I'm talking about. The Japanese right at the top of the page. I ran it through many translators and several, bu not all, give the same result.
This is what is on the page now:
もぎたてチンクルのばら色ルッピーランド
Many translators that I tried tells me that that means:
Mogitate Metal Alchemist: Dual Sympathy
I think that this might be better:
もぎたてチンクルのばらいろルッピーランド
Which gives:
Mogitate Tingle no poker rose RUPPIRANDO
That is what I found on a several Japanese sites as an alternate name to the game. I'm not sure what is causing the first one to be that messed up when translating the whole thing an once. Just as you said, breaking it down gives completely different results. This is is why I hate Japanese, it is a horrible language. The characters of their writing system are difficult for anyone to read and write, you have to be an expert just to do it and as if every commoner is going to be one of those. And they don't like to make sentences. It is all jumbled together with no spaces. Taking away once character changes the entire meaning. The system is just ridiculously inefficient. I'm not saying this because it is a foreign language to me. I'm saying it because it is just bad, plain and simple. Could we just dump the Japanese name on this game? If it causes this much trouble, it is not worth keeping up.

Hold on here. After all this venting I did, I figured it out. Converting the text to Romanji gives "mogi tate chinkuru no barairo ruppiirando". We don't seem to give the fully translated version of the other games. Why this one? Since no translator seems to get it right. Perhaps we should just remove the translation and stick with the Romanji. The other game pages seem to only have the Romanji.Matt (Talk) 12:16, July 23, 2008 (UTC)
I think I have figured out why this is happening. The translators that do this are the ones that let you suggest a better translation. This means that there has been a coordinated effort to sabotage these translators by have many people all suggest the same wrong translation for a phrase. Of course, if we were to go and tell the operators of these translators, they will ignore us.Matt (Talk) 12:51, July 23, 2008 (UTC)

Wowwww. Dude, someone needs to calm down about Japanese. :P I love the language, and I think that it's actually a much simpler language than English, and I'm hardly an expert.
Anyway, yeah, I knew that you were talking about the Japanese on the article, I just wasn't sure HOW considering the absolutely bizarre result you were getting. I mean, it doesn't matter how much you screw up the language, "もぎたてチンクルのばら色ルッピーランド" is NEVER going to give you the title of the Fullmetal Alchemist game. :/

"We don't seem to give the fully translated version of the other games. Why this one?" "The other game pages seem to only have the Romanji."

Uh, are you sure about that? (I need to add the Japanese to the other pages, speaking of which.)
I'm honestly not sure why you'd rather stick with just Romanji. Just because online translators (which are SERIOUSLY flawed; my translator gave me "Rose color [rutsupirando] of [gi] building [chinkuru" which basically mis-interpreted where the words were exactly) can't figure it out, doesn't mean that we can't. To be honest, I think that the Japanese is only "causing this much trouble" because you don't know the language. :/ The Japanese is there to be informative; it's not like we expect for every user here to know Japanese, which is why we also include the Romanji and a translation if the title itself differs from the English title (as is the case with the Oracles, Link's Crossbow Training, etc.).
Regarding the switching of the word ばら色 to ばらいろ: um, no? That's just plain incorrect. In Japanese, the kanji itself can drastically change the meaning of the word (as kana are quite often ambiguous; in fact, the correct word gives me "Rose color" in the translator; ばらいろ gives me "The rose be", which obviously is incorrect). Not to mention that the proper Japanese title of the game includes the kanji. —Ando (talk) 14:24, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
P.S. I like your conspiracy theory. :P

Offical Survey[]

Ah yes, the official survey reference. It's.... a dead link by now. Does anyone else know where the results are, or what they were? =P -The Goron Moron 09:54, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Our best hope was the Wayback machine. Sadly, both of the results, this and this, are both completely useless. So unless another web archive has it, we won't be getting that survey.Matt (Talk) 11:04, December 14, 2008 (UTC)

Content from this game in templates[]

I wonder, can content from this game also be listed in templates, e.g. Bone Ocarina in Template:Instruments? --Grandy02 13:38, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

I personally have no problem with it, and I say do it. —Ando (talk) 02:31, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks! :-) --Grandy02 11:40, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

Boss problems[]

If I'm not mistaken some of the names and titles for bosses are screwed up. First of all, the list completely excludes Dora Dora, also I think the second form of the second death bug boss is incorrect (but I may be wrong), and I know the Bana Bana is not Tri-"force" colored plant. Trust me I know (points at name) BanaBana 15:57, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, please insert the correct title of Bana Bana. I haven't played through the full game so far and looked at other sites. That and I play the German translation of the game, where many character names are different, so I have to take a look at English-language sites about the game's content anyway (there aren't many). --Grandy02 17:39, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
I added the correct title of Bana Bana. --Grandy02 17:22, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Item listing problem[]

I've been concerned about something for a long time, and I think we need to make a decision. For a long time, items from this game have had articles created here and there; without any specific category, there was nothing to "group" them as belonging to TRR. So I've tried to make sure that a link to them was placed here in the listings section. While doing this, I didn't realise just how many items there are in the game; it's well over 100! (see StrategyWiki page) I don't see how we're ever going to do this topic justice by creating hundreds of scattered stubs for each item. My suggestion would be that all information on items be merged into one page "Items in Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland" (in keeping with the format for other games). Or perhaps we should go one step further, and just link directly to the already complete page at our partner StrategyWiki? Adam [ talk ] 20:48, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

Letsee. Ha ha- I guess I've created most of these pages. :D I'm going to suggest that we group them on one page. We'll then see what needs to be added, and can, well, add it.
I'm going to go down kicking and screaming saying no on the StrategyWiki. One, it's largely inaccurate, and two, most of their accurate info was wrongfully taken by users such as... Alter. Yes, 'tis true. Besides that point, though, I don't think it would be cool just to link to an external source. Also, we already have a large amount of info. I'm willing to help out with compiling an "items" page. Alter  {T C B H } 21:50, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
OK, well I've created Items in Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland and moved the list of articles there. I guess the next step is to merge the content from each page under the relevant header there, then make the old article redirect to [[Items in Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland#section]]. I'm slightly concerned that there may be other item articles left out there after this though... Adam [ talk ] 16:57, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
Alright, It seems to be working out, but things seem a little messy at the moment, but that'll be taken care of soon, I'm sure. Don't worry- all of the pages will soon work their way in. It may take a few weeks at the most, though. Alter  {T C B H } 23:33, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
I agree on merging all those ingredients, most of the recipes and the items that are just for selling to NPCs, but some outstanding items such as the Bone Ocarina should be kept separate, I think. --Grandy02 19:11, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
If a handful of the items are important enough to warrant remaining in a separate article that's fine, we can just use the {{main}} tag. I think the same needs to happen with the Characters and Bodyguards, so I've moved all those to a new page also. I think the main characters should have individual articles (Tingle, Pinkle, Uncle Rupee etc) but the rest of the characters and bodyguards should also be merged. Adam [ talk ] 22:30, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

I disagree. Most of the bodyguards will have enough info on them to warrant their own page. All of them have at least two good images, and several of them with vital info. If they are merged, they would need to be chopped down, which I believe is unacceptable. That's just my opinion, though. Besides, I'll be greatly sprucing up all of the guards/characters in the next few days. There should be a lot of improvements.

Edit: I'm going to just add a lot of character and BG info, and see where this ends up. I think that most of the characters deserve their own pages. It won't work clumping them all together. BTW, nice job on the item listings, Adam. :)Alter  {T C B H } 01:52, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Enemies[]

I'm assuming that these are enemies from the game, but the images haven't been used since they were uploaded. I'm placing them here for now so they aren't deleted by accident, if someonw could create the page(s) for them that would be great! Adam [ talk ] 12:54, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

You have assumed correctly. I never knew these shots were out there. I'll see what I can do with them in the coming weeks. Alter  {T C B H } 04:33, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
Okay I've just finished creating pages for each of these images. --Heroofstuff 23:04, 25 February 2012 (EST)

Release Date[]

For the places on this site which have a spot for "first appearance", etc, should the Japanese release date be posted (2006}? I'm just double-checking here, as I've seen some of both dates floating around. Alter  {T C B H } 05:02, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
