I'm not going to actually check the game, but I looked at the image we've got of one of them in cursed form, and the eyes appeared to be pure black, not red at all. I suppose people that believe the Skulltula Family = Sheikah theory could say that their eye color is different when they're cursed, but I don't see why it would be. I feel that there is too much evidence for this theory to remove it completely, but without the eye color, it seems a bit odd.

People believe what they want to believe, I personally brought it here and developed it a little more from a theory in desertcolossus.com, so it seem that it is some kind believed around the web. I didn't know that their eyes were blue/black when cursed, so that knock it out a little, but again in other transformation we have seen eye color changing like in with Zelda-Sheik, it is used to disorientate and confuse. And also it seems to me that there are too many characters red haired and closed eyes that look similar not only the family but the Mask Salesman etc. that connect theoretically easy with the Sheikah, so I can't be ruled out so easily by that.

Maybe they are not Sheikah but they could be, also maybe are descendant or what become from the union of a Hylian with the Shadow race…

To start they are never called the "Skulltula Family" in OoT. They are however, called the "very rich family" and "fabulously rich family" once each. I say we move it to one of them. Second, should we really include them as MM characters? The only guy who fits this description in the slightest is the guy in the swamp spider house, and he should probably get his own page since its not really a "family".

I personally like the second name more. Although they are both pretty simple, the second one seems to at least be more personalized like ingo said. The first one just seems way too generic and there is more than one rich family in the series, so the second one makes it seem more individualized. That is just me though.

Maybe you're right, but I personally wouldn't like that change of name. If someone will want to find this family on the search, we will be making it difficult because something like "rich family" isn't as characteristic as spider family, skulltula family or cursed boys. Also in the events of Ocarina they they don't see to be rich anymore, except for the gifts.

I thought this was the official name. Is it ever called something else? What does the caption say when you enter it? If it is never called anything, this name seems fine to me. If it is called something else, it should probably be moved.

Actually, I believe my family name is not any of these. We have a last name, but I will never reveal it. We just go by "Fabulously rich family" and NO we are NOT sheikah, we are hylian! haven't you seen us in Majora's mask? We have blue eyes!

Sheikah vs. Hylian

{{2sheikah4|text=ok they lived in Kakariko Village before impa opened it to the public it is obvious that they are sheikah they lived in the village a long time ago impa recently opened it before that it was a all sheikah village it is common sense that they are sheikah they have blue/black eyes as a result of the curse i dont know why this is not alredy listed as sheikah it is unconfirmed weather they are hylian or sheikah but it is obvious they are sheikah and it at least makes more sense then hylian so i think it should be listed as such. and how do i get a speech bubble?

1. Can you provide some quote for the exact time frame for when Impa opened the village and when the family got cursed? It is a reasonable assumption from the cobwebs and the lack of lighting but without any proof you have nothing (if Impa recently opening the village was a few years then the house could easily fall into that state).

2.I recall Kakariko being referred to as a Sheikah village but that doesn't necessarily mean it had a 100% Sheikah population. Non Sheikah could have live there too as part of the population. Most references talk about opening it to the public so people like Link could just walk in and people like Mutoh would be free to build there.

3.I don't see what they're eye colour has to do with it. Impa has brown eyes in Skyward Sword, the long held belief that anything with red eyes is instantly Sheikah related should stop as a result of that. Using one minor feature of one character shouldn't be used to define the entire race. Overall it is a sound theory but that's all it is, a theory. There is no conclusive proof showing they are Sheikah and in that case we default to Hylian (because listing every single race unconfirmed character in the series would probably leave us with less than a dozen Hylians.)

{{2sheikah4|text=well i see your point i will try to come up with the quote but im pretty sure it is allot older then a few years old look at the bricks do you have the game? if you do go to kakarico and check it out it looks about 50 to 100 years old and someone said it was the oldest house in the village i think it was Shikashi who said it but im not sure if it was him or someone else.

If their race is unconfirmed, it doesn't automatically mean that they're Sheikah. Since we can't see their eye color, we can't use that to determine their race, and their skin appears too light to be the distinctive tan color of the Sheikah (although, admittedly, that could be from being inside/"Skulltulians" for so long).

I do have an idea that might solve all of this, though. What if we added "(unconfirmed)" to the race tag?

{{2sheikah4|text= i think it is obvious they are sheikah if you have oot go play the game talk to the inhabitants of the village in both child and adult forms and it will be obvious. and if you mean puting their race as sheikah then add unconfirmed tag to it id be fine with that.

It is NOT obvious they're Sheikah. There's only one piece of evidence with any substance to it, and even that evidence can easily be explained (the Sheikah saw an advantage of having a wealthy family, no matter what their race, among them; the village was opened to non-Sheikah longer ago than the game implies, meaning that a family of Hylians could in fact have moved their long enough ago that the legends could be formed; there are probably at least 10 more explanations for why the oldest home in the village is owned by Hylians instead of Sheikah).

At this point, I'm beginning to think that Professor Quirrell running in and announcing the presence of a large grey club-wielding monster in the dungeons would be the most accurate description of what's happening here...

{{2sheikah4|text= well if you dont think its obvious fine you at least have to admit that it makes more sense than hylian and the sheikah would not let some on in just for their wealth they arent like that they would have valued purity over money impa opened the village up because their was not many sheikah left to take care of it and she saw more sense in allowing other races in then allowing it to be destroyed my point is is look at sheikah history they dont sell out they would not allow someone in for money they stick to their ways they have suffered greatly to stick to their ways.

I looked through a text dump and found basically nothing that said the family was living there for a long time. The only thing that somewhat implies that they've lived there for a long time is Shikashi saying that a rich family "once" lived there. Although "once" could mean a very long time, it could also mean as little as a year or even a few days (though a few day is probably not the case). Anyways, we cannot add theoretical information to any article and present it as fact. It is a theory, and that is all it will probably ever be. Mentioning it as a possibility, which we already do, is all that can be said about this. I'm sorry, but unless we're all missing something completely obvious it won't be changed.

{{2sheikah4|text=well i see your point but im pretty sure that it means a long time look at the decayed state of the house its ancient looking even when your a kid i think it is obvious the house is very old and that means they are likely sheikah if you want to put a unconfirmed tag on their name than change it to sheikah i would be happy cus it is unconfirmed but i tkink it is more likely then hylian.

By your logic, President Obama's family has lived in the White House since the last time it was rebuilt. Just because the building itself is old doesn't mean the family was living there before the place began looking as old as it does (barring the spiderwebs, of course).

{{2sheikah4|text=well when you put it that way i see your point but im pretty sure someone said that they lived their a long time i know i was focusing on their house not them but i am pretty sure that they are sheikah and about your suggestion about the unconfirmed tag? if you mean change their race to unconfirmed sheikah then i would be fine with that.

Have you ever seen an abandoned house? It falls into ruin pretty quickly. I'd imagine even quicker if the inhabitants were cursed semi spider people. Besides another important point is that being a Sheikah village does not mean it is an all Sheikah population. It's be pretty accurate to say Goron Village in Majora's Mask is a Goron Village yet a Deku Scrub lives there. Countless other examples are present throughout the series. It is a reasonable theory but it is unconfirmed. If everyone thinks having an unknown race works for infobox then that's fine but it would mean most characters in the series would be unknown due to lack of proof.

{{2sheikah4|text= ok how about this why dont we just change their race to sheikah with a unconfirmed tag? i see your point about the deku scrub in the goron village but 2 things one that is gorons not sheikah sheikah would have kept their village all sheikah before it was opened to the public im suprised impa opened it up look at their history sheikah dont live alongside hylians or other races normally sheikah villages have perished because of that very reason and 2 we are talking about a whole family not 1 person and it was a buisness scrub not a normal person living there.

We really don't know anything about the history of the Sheikah or the history of this family. We can assume yes but in terms of fact we have nothing. And that was just one example, the series is rife with examples like the unnamed Goron in the Market in Ocarina of Time or Baito in Dragon Roost Island in The Wind Waker. Whether or not they are Shiekah is no longer a discussion. Whether infoboxes should show gender unless it is directly referenced is now the current issue and would be better suited to a forum.

We should maintain neutrality by simply saying unconfirmed and not saying either way which race we think they are, barring the theory in the article proper. There's really nothing else to discuss about this.

It's worth discussing (in a forum) what our parameters for assuming a character is a Hylian in general, though.
