Merge All Weapons[]
I proposed a merge for all weapons that can be picked up in TWW. I think we can make a new article encompassing all of these items, probably called something like "Usable Enemy Weapons". Each article is mostly stubby, so it would only help things. Even though the items are all related, none of them link to the others' articles, only to this section on the Wind Waker sword page, which neglects to mention ALL of the weapons, probably because not all are swords. This leaves these items without their own article. A lot of the information in each article is repeated in the next, so it would make sense to put them together. I see only good reasons to combine these articles, aside from a slight drop in article count. What do you think? Any other suggestions on the Article name? Am I missing any items? - As you already said, these articles are pretty small and about minuscule subjects, so I can't really see an abundant amount of information being added to them, so go for it. Mandi Talk 19:30, February 27, 2011 (UTC)
- Great idea, Garrett. I think you do have all of The Wind Waker's enemy weapon pickups, the task now is to see if those are the only ones in the entire series that Link can use in such a way... — ciprianotalk 20:22, 6 March 2011 (UTC)
How about "Usable Enemy Items"? I think that's a a simple and wide enough term to cover the mentioned items in TWW. We may even want to include things like Deku Nuts/Sticks and Pieces of Power for kicks.I just realized that Garrett made a similar suggestion. Regardless, I think the merge is a good idea. — Abdul [T] [C] [S] 15:00, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
- First off, I can think of one such item/weapon that is thrown by enemies that you can use, the bombs by the Great Moblin in the Oracle Series. Anyway, I think "Enemy Weapons" should be more than sufficient. The wiki is more than just one person's project. With a page title like that we could cover all notable weapons used by enemies in the series. Usable ones could be a subsection. A few non-usable ones we can cover right away are Ganon's swords and his trident. Zelda's Sword too because it's used against you when she's Puppet Zelda. Maybe the Iron Knuckle's axe since it can destroy elements in the room. Perhaps a TP Darknut's sword because Link has to dodge it when it's thrown at him. We could have one section at the top covering the more generic weapons all in one go. Such an article will give us room to cover some weapons that just aren't practical for individual articles. Just some ideas. Matt (Talk) 20:32, March 7, 2011 (UTC)
- For now, I will make the call and go with "Usable Enemy Weapons". What I really wanted to discuss most was the name. Matt has a great idea, but it is a different direction than what I had in mind for this particular article. Further down the road, we can move it to just "Enemy Weapons" when someone wants to write a comprehensive article about all enemy weapons in general. The reason I wish to do this is because I had specific examples, all from The Wind Waker, in mind for this particular article. I have enough information to put together in one article. With Matt's idea, we will have to get together a lot more information we don't quite have yet. It sounds like an ambitious project, but who's to say it will get done or started anytime soon, unless someone wants to start right away? It would also be a shame if these articles got buried underneath anything. As far as enemy weapons got, I believe these from The Wind Waker stand out the most. Noble Wrot 02:35, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
Twilight Princess Items[]
Wouldn't the Gale Boomerang and the Ball and Chain from Twilight Princess fall into this category? They're both in use by minibosses before Link is able to use them. Mistress Fi (talk) 03:01, 17 December 2016 (UTC)
- Those are key items used by a boss, are required to beat the game, and can be carried by Link, unlike the usable enemy weapons. Delsait (talk) 03:24, 17 December 2016 (UTC)
