Name[]

Ummm... I didn't know that this guy's name was Deku toad. How'd you guys know? What does it have to do with the Deku race? (Plants and such) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sechrist lds 21:37, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

I know that name was shown somewhere, but Deku isn't just plants. Deku is usually associated with the forest as well as glowing eyes. So 1 out of 2. --Green (talk) 04:01, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Go to Characters -> Monsters page 2 -> Middle of the upper row. But he is correct though. Until the Deku Toad's appearance, I don't think there was anything "deku" (which means something along the line of "wooden figurine") that was NOT wood/tree related. Deku Scrubs, Deku Baba (seeds/sticks etc.), Deku Tree (shield/leaf), Deku Flower and whatever more. IfIHaveTo (talk) 10:55, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Name issue[]

About the Deku prefix: it's apparently a mistranslation of デグトード (Degu Toad). Degu is a word for big that was used for Giant Ghini (デグギーニ, Degu Giini), Slime Eye (デグゾル, Degu Zol) and Zol (from LA), Armos Knights (デグアモス, Degu Amos) (the bigger Armos statues that serve as a boss in ALttP).
So, whatever you guys want to do with that, if anything, just bringing it up. Triforce (T C) 15:52, 29 March 2010 (UTC)

I don't think the name is a mistranslation. The eye's are identical to the eyes of a Deku Scrub, and it also seems to have plants growing off of it's tail and the sides of it's head. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rhoso (talk) 21:15, 3 September 2012 (UTC)
