Does anyone else think that the Deku Shrine could be the home for all "common" Deku Scrubs? There are an awful lot of Mad Scrubs around the area. The only kinds of Deku seen in the palace are high-ranking guards, royalty, and nobility, and Mad Scrubs are only found in the shrine and around Woodfall Temple, apparently acting as security. The Mad Scrubs might serve as the kingdom's common citizens, and all live in the shrine.--Arkimedes (talk) 02:31, September 21, 2011 (UTC)

Hmm, it's hard to say. The Mad Scrubs in the shrine may be guards just like the ones in Woodfall and Deku Palace (there's a few in there also, on the raised platforms), but since Link can only enter the shrine as a welcome guest, they wouldn't ever be seen defending the place. On one hand I think it's plausible because the Deku people are noticeably lacking a population center for their non-royalty, (that's true of the Zora as well, they just have a concert hall). On the other hand though, the shrine does not seem to be designed as a dwelling, and Deku are likely just fine living simply in a Deku Flower at any given outdoor location. All in all I'd be fine with a theory section that explains why the Deku Shrine might be the primary home of the non-royalty, as long as it also points out the alternative explanation I mentioned above.--FierceDeku 02:43, September 21, 2011 (UTC)
