Four Giants

Whoa whoa whoa. Okay, first off, I'm not totally convinced that the Four Giants are "gods" ("spirits" or some other not-quite-a-god word seems more appropriate), but I'll let it slide. What I AM worried about is that this page says that the Four Giants created Termina as opposed to just them being the guardians of it. Am I missing something, because I don't recall that ever being stated in-game. --Ando 04:56, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

When Tatl asks what they are, all they say is "guardians." Anju's Grandmother's stories support that. There isn't anything saying that they created the land. I was under the impression that Termina was created when the effects of the Golden Goddesses slipped into another realm. I can't recall where I heard that though.--Matt 05:03, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
Probably the US Zelda site. It says something along the lines of "when the goddesses created the land, some of their... creationing slipped through the cracks of time and space, creating parallel worlds like Termina". Anyway, thanks for the confirmation. Editing now. --Ando 05:10, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
Anju's Grandmother says: "The imp was a friend of the giants since before they had created the four worlds". Her story is more canon than a site, so I think that we should change it back. Does anybody disagree?Jerônimo 17:22, 27 November 2011 (EST)
Anju's grandmother is the only source of this info, and she states that the story is from long ago, pretty much admitting that the story has been significantly altered. If you want, you can say "the giants are said to have created Termina" and cite that passage. User:Abdullah/sig 14:02, 28 November 2011 (EST)

bongo-bongo

as much as i enjoy theroys isnt this going a little too far. your ALL forgeting occoms razor.Dragonstetraforce 22:22, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Not sure what Occam's Razor has to do with it, but yeah, I don't remember Bongo-Bongo ever being called a deity. Does anyone have any proof of this? User:Ando1400/sig 22:51, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Twili Gods

Midna mentions their deities after Link gets the Light Master Sword. Should we mention them here? - AtrumLevis  (My Talk Page) (My Contributions) 14:45, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

Bongo-Bongo

oct. 2008... still Bongo-Bongo is on the list... I WILL PERSONALLY END THIS ONCE AND FOR ALL! if bongo-bongo returns then one of you admins either protect this page, or ban the little imp. they both work for me. Dragonstetraforce 00:27, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Time and Sands

Shouldn't the Goddess of Time from MM be on this list? I was going to add it myself but I'm not sure which section to put it in. The Goddess of Sand/Desert Colossus is another possible candidate for the list--Fierce diety 01:12, 8 May 2011 (EDT)

My bad, the Desert Colossus is on the list already. The Goddess of Time question still stands--Fierce diety 06:05, 14 May 2011 (EDT)
Added her. The article had hidden messages on characters whose deity status we're not sure about, which is VERY amateur and coward. I just zapped them. --K2L (Interrogatory) 09:22, 14 May 2011 (EDT)

The Wind Fish

Is there any proof that the Wind Fish is a god of dreams? He does have some god-like powers, like flying, attracting people into his dreams, creating people (Marin, the seagull), but I don't remember anyone in the game calling him a god of dreams.Jerônimo 16:01, 24 October 2011 (EDT)

Yeah, a lot of these guys are ambiguous. I suggest we remove all entries unless the games specifically say that they are a god(dess), deity or have been worshiped. Anyway, I removed the part in question. User:Abdullah/sig 17:05, 29 October 2011 (EDT)

My template is deleting the page!

I'm trying to cite Zelda from Skyward Sword but it's glitching and deleting the rest of the page! This is what I was trying to write:

They cannot use the Triforce, although they can sacrifice their divinity to be reborn in mortal form.

(ref and cite templates) "For while the

EDIT: Lesson learned: The space characters from the Skyward Sword text dump are weird like that and I have to replace them with normal spaces. Spoon Link 11:31, 28 December 2011 (EST)

"*Ganon, the King of Evil, strongly associated with the dark tribe. He has been worshiped by the Gerudo,[1] Deku,[2][3] and Zant.[4][5]"

I don't think Ganon should be removed from the page, given that he is explicitly worshipped and named as a god. I don't think that we can take one quote from SS and use it like this; if Ganon is not a "deity" because he can hold the Triforce, even though he is called a god, then which "gods" from previous games can we still say with certainty are deities? Basically, we can only say reliably that SS deities cannot hold the Triforce, and that that can imply that some gods or deities from other games may be a "different kind of god" than the SS deities; the idea that no gods could hold the Triforce simply didn't exist in the earlier games. Since this definition didn't exist back then, we can't say that the earlier games were "incorrect", although it's certainly a plothole that should be mentioned.KrytenKoro 15:52, 28 December 2011 (EST)

I think it's pretty much safe to assume he isn't actually a god of any sort, since his appearance to Zant was fueled by his piece of the Triforce. I also think a little clean up is in order - deities are not necessarily worshiped (nothing suggests Cyclos and Zephos are), or alternatively something worshiped is not necessarily a deity (Ganon, natch). --KingStarscream 15:40, 14 March 2013 (UTC)
Zephos and Cyclos have monuments, which indicate that they are worshiped. Furthermore, the Wind Waker was used to call upon the gods, which would at least imply that Zephos and Cyclos had some role, given their relevance to the Wind Waker.
As for Ganon, I wouldn't consider him a god, but it's still relevant since he acted like one. - TonyT S C 16:44, 14 March 2013 (UTC)

Spirits of Good

Shouldn't the Spirits of Good be listed on this page too? I'd do it, but I'm not sure which category they'd fall under. Meganerd18 02:07, 6 February 2012 (EST)

Demise is a god

God is to Satan, as Hylia (and the three golden godesses) is to Demise.

Demise is basically a god of his own, or at the very least a Diety. He should be included here. --Editorguy117 (talk) 05:08, 18 January 2016 (UTC)

Speculative information. Demise is not stated to be a deity, so no. - TonyT S C 05:48, 18 January 2016 (UTC)

All of the evil Deity's are neglected on this page

While most Deities in Zelda are good, a lot of the powerful god-like entities (and worshiped by their followers) in Zelda are evil as well.

-Demise is a god, but on the evil/demon side of the coin.

-Majora is no doubt a deity, and possibly a god.

-Ganondorf is the reincarnation of Demise, making him a god in a sense. Also Zant even worships him and calls him a god. --Editorguy117 (talk) 05:08, 18 January 2016 (UTC)

What constitutes a deity is official word establishing whether someone is a god(dess). Zant mistakes Ganon for being a deity, and later betrays Ganondorf. Being powerful isn't necessarily a sign of godliness.
This page is not being neglected because of your assumption that power = divinity. - TonyT S C 05:48, 18 January 2016 (UTC)
Ganondorf cannot be a god. The Triforce was made so no god(dess) could use it, but Ganon(dorf) has been shown to be able to use the Triforce. Dark Mirror's Link (talk) 17:35, 18 January 2016 (UTC)
