Swamolas are recurring Enemies in The Legend of Zelda series.[2]
Characteristics[]
A Link to the Past[]
In A Link to the Past, Swamolas appear in the Swamp of Evil in the Dark World. They swim to the surface of the mud to collect food,[1] biting Link in the process if he gets close enough.
A Link Between Worlds[]
In A Link Between Worlds, Swamolas appear in Misery Mire in Lorule. They behave the same as in A Link to the Past.
Nomenclature[]
Swanmola may be a corruption of "Swamp" and "Lanmola," given that they are counterparts to the Lanmola exclusive to swamp and marshy areas.
The Japanese name for the Swamola is モルドアーム (Moldarm), the name used for Moldorms in The Legend of Zelda, while the Japanese name for Moldorm in other games is テール (Tail). Swamolas behave much like the Moldorms from Twilight Princess, which are known as モルドワーム (Moldwarm) rather than テール (Tail) in Japan.
