A Link to the Past
A Link Between Worlds
The Japanese name for the Swamola is モルドアーム (Moldarm), the name used for Moldorms in The Legend of Zelda, while the Japanese name for Moldorm in other games is テール (Tail). Swamolas behave much like the Moldorms from Twilight Princess, which are known as モルドワーム (Moldwarm) rather than テール (Tail) in Japan.

- "The Swamolas of Misery Mire are believed to be cousins of the Lanmolas found in the Light World desert. Instead of the heat and sand of the desert though, these creatures were accustomed to mud and slime. They swam to the surface in order to collect food."
