Development period
This Game has been in development for 4 years now does this make this title 'the game with the longest development time' in the entire franchise? if so should we put it in the trivia?--0551E80Y (talk) 16:15, 27 June 2015 (UTC)

:We would need a citation for this information, as well as citations for the development periods of the other games. I seem to recall that SS took something like 5 years, so this length of time isn't anything special. 22:57, 27 June 2015 (UTC)

::According to the SS article the development started in 2007 with an interview with Miyamoto during E3 of that year, He didn't say at that stage that a new game was being developed for the Wii after TP but he did left a hint of potential for one then. The article sees that as part of the development period or rather the start of it so according to its article, Skyward sword's time of development from the start to its release date in November 2011 was 4 years, 4 months... roughly. As of this comment's time stamp; Zelda Wii U just past the 4 year development mark and its release date won't be til 2016. In November this year, this title will surpass the development time of skyward sword making it longer then that game to make. But i get what you mean about the other games' development periods i'll have to research that.--0551E80Y (talk) 10:05, 28 June 2015 (UTC)

:::How do we know Zelda Wii U has been in development for 4 years? Miyamoto mentioning that Nintendo is planning on making an HD The Legend of Zelda title does not mean they started development at that time. --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 11:24, 28 June 2015 (UTC)

::::Because that is when the public found out if it was found out earlier or later or they revealed they've been working on it since spirit tracks or a link between worlds it would have changed i'm going by the article's description it claims that is when development began with the announcement of a new hd zelda game 4 years ago its under the development section so its part of the development period.--0551E80Y (talk) 14:56, 29 June 2015 (UTC)

NEWS #1

AONUMA SAYS ZELDA U’S DEVELOPMENT IS “PROGRESSING WELL,” EMPHASIZES THAT IT WILL BE “SOMETHING NEW”

This is how Aonuma responded when Famitsu asked how the development process was going:

“Busy. When we did Skyward Sword for the Wii, at the end stages of development, I was in charge of the characters’ dialogue and the in-game text. And, now as well, it’s like it was then. I had to work on text today, too. But, the game has really taken shape, and things have gotten easier. That means things are progressing well.”-Eiji Aonuma

In this next quote, Aonuma talks about how Ocarina of Time has always been the series' "secret sauce." He specifies they will be changing up the formula this time, which I'm guessing will please many fans. He puts emphasis on making "something new," just like how Ocarina of Time was something new when it released for the N64.

“I think the base of our secret sauce has always been Ocarina of Time. But this time, the change in flavor will be like going from Japanese food to Western style food. Perhaps, players will be surprised. Please look forward to it, because I think we’ll be able to make ‘something new’ like Ocarina of Time was.”-Eiji Aonuma

AONUMA: ZELDA U WILL MAKE PEOPLE WANT TO REPLAY TWILIGHT PRINCESS HD (TITLES CONNECTED)

Aonuma: While making the latest title for The Legend of Zelda, when I look at this remake, I feel like this is the origin point of the new title we’re making right now. After playing this game you may have some “Oh I see!” moments when playing the [upcoming] new game, so I’ll be glad if you play Twilight Princess HD while waiting in anticipation for the latest title of Legend of Zelda.

Famitsu: So I heard that the save data for this game that’s saved in the Wolf Link amiibo has some connections to the [upcoming] newest Legend of Zelda…

Aonuma: It’s not the save data itself, but “Part of the data saved in the Wolf Link amiibo can be brought over and used in the new title too”. For some people, when they play the new title, they might feel the urge to play Twilight Princess HD one more time."

NX Release?
I've heard the game won't be coming out until the new system (supposedly called the NX?) is launched.

Anyone able to confirm this?
