Resaving to make the template work in itself[]
So, I notice that the template for some reason didn't show up properly in its examples after the page was created in one go, so I resaved with no changes with the summary "Resaved to make this the template examples use itself properly (it currently shows Template:Romanize in bold, but shows correctly in Show preview)". I am actually curious why it didn't display properly. I suppose templates update all the pages it resides on when it changes, but the pages update only when the template is updated perhaps; so his template page retrieved an empty page and saved it in its page cache (or something), and then since it exists and points to itself, the link behavior causes it to go bold. Assuming it works on the pages it is currently used on, it must be that each page has a cache or storage that is instructed to update when the template page updates? Also, I learned that saving a page with 0 changes saves the page, but is not recorded anywhere. :)
Suddenly me asking a question turned into a soliloquy as my gears got turning. Since I've already typed all this, there's no harm in leaving this here, right?
