"In a diary left long ago, there were a few lines on investigations concerning the mysterious pedestal. "When the snowy mountain pedestal glows, cast a cold shadow onto its core." You gather that there is a secret hidden in the pedestal nestled in the snowcapped peaks."
— Adventure Log description

Secret of the Snowy Peaks is a Shrine quest in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The quest is obtained from reading the Mountain Peak Log atop the Mount Granajh in the Gerudo Highlands between Faron Grasslands and Gerudo Desert southwest of Wasteland Tower and east of South Lomei Labyrinth. Completing this quest grants Link access to Suma Sahma Shrine.

Placement of the snowball

The quest calls for Link to cast a "cold shadow" on a pedestal situated between Mount Granajh and Daval Peak, which is accomplished by holding one of the various snowballs in the area above his head so that its shadow falls across the center of the pedestal while it is active (starting at 16:00 in-game). The Cryonis Rune can also be used to cast a shadow from the small ponds.
