The sacred Pearls are used to open up a passage to the Tower of the Gods, which lies underwater in sunken Hyrule. Once collected, the Pearls are placed on the three statues resembling the Golden Goddesses located in each of the Triangle Islands found across the Great Sea to cause the temple to rise above the Sea.<ref>{{Cite|As it happens, you have come just in time for a ceremony that the Koroks hold but once every year. Nayru's Pearl is the third and last of three Pearls that Link has to obtain in The Wind Waker. This Pearl is initially owned by Jabun of Greatfish Isle. Hyrule is once again being besieged by evil forces. At the center of this trouble is Shia, the witch tasked with maintaining the balance of the Triforce. Although once a good person, Shia came to harbor affections for a certain knight-in-training, which in turn transformed into jealousy towards the Princess Zelda for being able to be with him.

Eventually, Shia finds her mind turned wicked under the control of the evil being thought to have been sealed away, leading her to bring disaster to the kingdom. The knight she fell for, Link, now stands in opposition to her, while she, with minions Valga and Wizro at her side, plunge Hyrule into chaos.

The gameplay is very similar to Tecmo Koei's Dynasty Warriors series of video games, but instead uses the setting and characters from Nintendo's Zelda series. The player controls various characters throughout the game, including Link and Impa. While there will be a far stronger emphasis on combat than other games in the Zelda series, the player will still use common weapons from prior games in the series, such as Swords, Bombs and the Fire Rod. Many of Link's signature moves appear, such as the Spin Attack. Link is also seen using the Master Sword and Hylian Shield. Discovering and opening Chests will be retained as well.
