Hyrule Compendium Entry
Chief among metal Shields are the Royal Shields, whose Durability and defensive power outshine many others. Before the Great Calamity, these Shields were issued to the immediate guard detail of the Royal Family of Hyrule. Though they have an incredibly high defense, Royal Shields are considered collector's items due to their ornamentations.

Royal Shields are made of metal, and will therefore attract Lightning if they're equipped during a thunderstorm. They also sink if they're dropped in water, but they won't burn if exposed to Fire or a Scorching Climate. The Magnesis Rune also works on them, allowing Link to pick up and manipulate them.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity
Royal Shields can be wielded by Link in conjunction with Royal Broadswords.
