"Riverbed Reward" is a Side Quest in Breath of the Wild.[1]
Overview[]
At the edge of Hylia River near Wetland Stable, Link can find Izra staring into the water.[2] He wonders what he should do, mentioning his fear of deep water.[3] However, he notices Link listening,[4] he apologizes as he was lost in thought.[5] When Link shows an interest, Izra asks if he sees the shape at the bottom of the River.[6] He thinks it might be a Treasure Chest,[7] though he is unsure how to pull it out of the water without some kind of machine.[8] Izra has been unable to sleep due to his curiosity about its contents.[9] When he is done speaking, the Side Quest begins.
Using the Magnesis Rune, Link can pull the Treasure Chest from Hylia River. Izra is shocked by this action,[10] though it turns to awe once he sees that it works.[11] He urges Link to open the Chest.[12] Within, Link will find a Knight's Broadsword. When Link speaks to Izra, he commends him for the "wizardry" he used to pull out Chest and asks what was inside.[13]
If Link tells him that it was a treasure,[14] Izra will become frustrated.[15] He could have become rich with the treasure inside, and therefore would have attracted women.[16] However, now that he knows the contents of the Chest, he can sleep at night.[17] Alternatively, if Link tells him it was a sword,[18] he brushes it off as he did not want the treasure anyway.[19] This time, he still says that he will be able to sleep now that he knows what was inside.[20] With this, the Side Quest will be completed.
