The Ritaag Zumo Shrine,[1] designated by the Trial name Ritaag Zumo's blessing,[1] is an Ancient Shrine in Breath of the Wild.

Entrance to the Shrine[]

Ritaag Zumo Shrine is located at the center of the Rist Peninsula in the Akkala Highlands and the Akkala Sea. The Ancient Shrine is buried underground next to a Pedestal. A Stone Tablet among the ruins near the base of the Peninsula states that only a hero with the nearby Ancient Orb will be granted a Trial.[2] Reading this Tablet begins the "Into the Vortex" Shrine Quest.

To complete the Shrine Quest and reveal Ritaag Zumo Shrine, Link must carry the Ancient Orb to the Pedestal at the center of Rist Peninsula. Once the Orb is placed into the Pedestal's Stone Sphere Socket, Ritaag Zumo Shrine will rise up from the ground, and the Shrine Quest will be completed.[3] As Link enters the Ancient Shrine, he is greeted by its Monk, Ritaag Zumo, who states that merely being able to enter the Shrine is proof of Link's worth.[4]

Themes and Navigation[]

Ritaag Zumo Shrine features no puzzles, simply a direct path to the Monk's Pedestal bearing Ritaag Zumo. Along this path is a Treasure Chest containing a Giant Ancient Core. When Link approaches Ritaag Zumo, the Monk will congratulate him for reaching the Ancient Shrine.[5] As a reward, they give Link a Spirit Orb.[6] The Monk then wishes Link well before fading away.[7]
