The Rin Oyaa Shrine,[1] designated by the Trial name Directing the Wind,[1] is an Ancient Shrine in Breath of the Wild.

Entrance to the Shrine

Rin Oyaa Shrine is in the southwest of the Tabantha Tundra, west of the Snowfield Stable. As Link enters the Ancient Shrine, he is greeted by the Shrine's Monk, Rin Oyaa.[2]

Themes and Navigation

Rin Oyaa Shrine features six fans, two metallic blocks, an Ancient Orb and a Floor Switch activated by the Sphere that raises a stone platform up to Rin Oyaa. Four of the fans blow the Stone Sphere from the stone platform towards the Switch but the other two blow the Sphere into a dead-end and the fans can be covered by the metallic blocks. In order to complete the Trial, Link must be standing on the stone platform when the Stone Sphere activates the Switch. Once this is done, Link will be raised up, allowing him to speak to Rin Oyaa. He will give Link a Spirit Orb for completing the Trial,[3] and will wish Link well before fading away.[4]

On the wall opposite Rin Oyaa across a gap that is too big for Link to jump across is a Treasure Chest containing an Ancient Core.
