The Red Shield (or Fire Shield) is a shield from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. An improved version of the Fighter's Shield, Link can purchase it from one of the various shops in the Dark World or obtain it by throwing the Fighter's Shield into the Mysterious Pond behind the Waterfall of Wishing. It is bigger than the Fighter's Shield and can block fireballs, but not beams. It is replaced by the Mirror Shield later in the game. Link can lose the Red Shield if he is attacked by a Like Like or a Pikit.
