Through a [[The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Glitches#Blue Shield|glitch]], it is possible to turn the Improved Shield blue. This glitch can be performed by having a [[Pikit]] steal the shield, but then using the [[Ether Medallion]] when its tongue is still retracting. When Link reclaims the shield, it will still be blue.

The Improved Shield is a shield from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. An improved version of Link's Fighter's Shield, it can be purchased from one of the various shops in the Dark World or obtained by throwing the Fighter's Shield into the Mysterious Pond behind the Waterfall of Wishing. It is bigger than the Fighter's Shield and can block fireballs, but not beams. It is replaced by the Mirror Shield later in the game.
