Red Moblins are recurring Enemies in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2] Red Moblins go unnamed in Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages.

Characteristics[]

The Legend of Zelda[]

In The Legend of Zelda, Red Moblins are common enemies found throughout Hyrule. They keep to the wooded areas, such as the Lost Woods, and throw spears to attack. These spears can be blocked with the most basic Shield.

Not all Red Moblins are enemies, however. Some friendly Red Moblins hide in secret caves across Hyrule and give Link Rupees when spoken to, uttering the iconic phrase "It's a secret to everybody" in the process.[3]

The Adventure of Link[]

In The Adventure of Link, Red Moblins appear leaner and muscular. Although their master, Ganon, is deceased, they continue to serve him and patrol the Overworld of Hyrule.[4] Red Moblins are common to the wooded areas of Hyrule, although some can be found on bridges or caves. They attack by either jabbing or throwing their spears.[5]

Red Moblins are a stronger variant of the Moblin. Their movement is restricted to the beat of music, and have a set attack pattern that forces them to move every two beats, crouching for one beat before jumping on the next, harming anyone that stands in their way. Their main weapon is the spear, which they may throw at Cadence, Link, Yves, or Zelda when they get close enough. They always attack within a pattern, pausing on one beat to aim their spear before throwing it on the second beat, and having it land on the third. Once landed, they will make their way towards retrieving their spear unless it has been destroyed, picked up by another Moblin, or the hero using the Power Glove. Without their spear, they will search for another one or if there are not any around, they will proceed to attack the heroes directly. Their spears are only temporary weapons, which can be throw with the Power Glove in order to deal damage to other enemies.
