The Skyview Temple, sometimes referred to in-game as the Forest Temple, is an ancient structure that serves as a temple in SS. Its mini-boss is a Stalfos, and the main item obtained is the Beetle.

The dungeon is located within Lanayru Desert, at first sunken beneath the large pool of sand in the east frontier of the ancient Temple of Time. It was the main industrial complex of an unnamed civilization or corporation that had died out. The dungeon is full of sand that has built up over time.
To reach the Skyview Temple, Link must make his way through the Deep Woods area during his search for Zelda. After aiding Bucha, the Kikwi Elder, in locating the missing Kikwis, Link will be given the Slingshot. Bucha will also tell Link that he saw a young girl that looked just like him heading towards Skyview Temple. He can use the Slingshot to open the path to Deep Woods, which leads to the Skyview Temple. However, the door leading inside the dungeon is sealed shut. To open the door to the temple, Link must hit a Crystal Switch above the entrance by using his Slingshot. After hitting the switch and unsealing the temple's entrance, the young hero ventures into the dungeon.

Link initially proceeds to the location of the Temple of Time, only to discover that the entrance is blocked. He then learns from an Ancient Robot that the Lanayru Mining Facility and the temple are connected underground. statue. In the three cases, the nodes can only be activated when a Timeshift Stone is activated nearby, and to do so Link stabs at the center of each of them so he can proceed to rotate the pointer up to a certain angle. Each pointer has a symbol: a lightning bolt, a water droplet, and a flame. When all three nodes are activated, Link goes to the power generator that is in front of the facility's resting area, and proceeds to input its three pointers in an order that is indicated by the order of placement of the symbols, which in turn is based on the position of the original power nodes (this can be seen on the map, where the three symbols are shown). The facility is then revealed, and Link proceeds to enter.

Compared to the previous dungeons in the game, and the majority of the dungeons in the Zelda franchise, Lanayru Mining Facility shows a significantly more advanced technology within, such as artificial lights and luminous platforms and stairs. The facility also contains a large number of Timeshift Stones that were mined from the earth, as well as many ruined and disused systems that come to life when the Timeshift Stones are activated.

The Skyview Temple, true to its location, has a forest motif. It is a network of gloomy passages in which luminescent plants and fungi grow. Several parts of its internal architecture are in ruins, and the last room even houses a large chasm Link crosses with the help of vines he can untie with the help of the Slingshot. The dungeon only has one floor, but it makes up for it with the huge size of its rooms, as well as the large variety of enemies that inhabit the temple.

  +
Inside the facility, the sand proves as difficult to navigate as outside, requiring plenty of stamina to dash across the various sand-filled rooms. Also found inside the facility's walls are a number of minecarts and conveyor systems that have fallen into disrepair. The use of Timeshift Stones allow Link to restore these systems to life and help him trigger switches in order to further proceed into the dungeon. However, Link must evade the rugged piles of unrefined minerals and electric barriers as he navigates the conveyor belts. Stamina fruits are occasionally dropped, allowing Link to continue running across the belts. The past also contains several mechanical sentries, powered by ancient and relatively unknown technology, which Link must defeat in order to proceed.
The temple often requires Link to hit Crystal Switches with the Slingshot to change the water level; raising the water levels will allow the hero to access new passageways, which lead deeper into the dungeon. Later, after defeating a Stalfos mini-boss, Link will be rewarded with the Beetle, a mechanical insect-shaped tool he can pilot towards inaccessible spots, which allows him to hit certain Crystal Switches he could not before, in turn allowing him to open doors that lead to new rooms or even collect a Piece of Heart. It also grants him the ability to cut certain ropes and webs around the Temple, creating paths and shortcuts, making crates fall to the ground, and making Skulltulas directly vulnerable to terrestrial attacks.

  +
Large piles of softer sand frequently appears alongside the dangerous sinksand, and although they rarely impede movement (one of them blocks a door), the piles frequently hide switches, treasures, or enemies. Link must use the Gust Bellow to blow away the sand and reveal what it hides. Link will have to continue to activate Timeshift Stones and use the Gust Bellows as he travels deeper into the dungeon. Several mechanical platforms must be moved by using the Gust Bellows to make them move, and some switches are triggered in this fashion as well. Timeshift Stones on moving minecarts have to be used at some points, meaning the young hero must move quickly and precisely to ensure that tasks they need to do in the small past area are completed.
The boss of the Temple is Ghirahim, who is defeated by avoiding striking his guard with Link's sword, or by countering one of his attacks. Upon learning that Zelda's presence from the temple has faded, the Demon Lord teleports away, leaving behind a Heart Container for Link to collect.

  +
Interestingly, this dungeon doesn't have a mini-boss, and the boss doesn't directly guard any quest reward other than its Heart Container. Instead, after Link defeats it, he crosses a railroad that takes him to a scene at the Temple of Time where he has to protect Zelda and Impa from Ghirahim's reaches, and receives from his childhood friend the Goddess's Harp.
Upon exiting the temple, Link comes across the scenic Skyview Spring. Link intends to find Zelda at the spring, but his fight with Ghirahim prevents that. At the end of the spring, Link encounters a crest, similar in appearance to the Sacred Crest found inside the Statue of the Goddess. After the young hero activates the crest, Fi informs him that she has a message from the gods of the old and begins to translate it for him. The translation states that the spirit maiden, known as Zelda has set off for a second sacred place similar to Skyview Spring, known as the Earth Spring. After the translation is complete, Link receives the Ruby Tablet which creates a rift in the clouds leading to Eldin Volcano.

Second Visit
Uniquely among the dungeons in Skyward Sword, the Skyview Temple must be returned to at least once. Upon meeting Faron, the Water Dragon, she informs Link that she has been gravely injured while defending Lake Floria from Ghirahim's minions. She asks the young hero to retrieve more Sacred Water from Skyview Temple's Skyview Spring because her water has lost its special healing, and says that she will reveal the location of Farore's Sacred Flame to the hero in return. Although it is not necessary to visit every part of the dungeon again, the route to the spring is not completely straight and uninterrupted, as some pathways have been blocked off, necessitating new solutions to previous puzzles. Additionally, new and stronger enemies appear to have infested the temple, including Froaks and many Bokoblin Archers. Upon reaching the room where Link fought Ghirahim the first time around, he must now take on a trio of Stalfos. After retrieving the Sacred Water and giving it to Faron, she becomes healed and in turn, she grants Link access to the Ancient Cistern.

Theory
start

The Skyview Temple serves as one of two locations where Zelda must pray to regain her memories of being Hylia. These memories, meanwhile, seem to be necessary for Zelda to invoke her blessing on the Master Sword and allow it to attain its final form, thus making this temple, as well as the Earth Temple, critical to this process. In TWW, there are also two temples- the Earth and Wind temples- involved in infusing the Master Sword with its full power, and they also require prayers to accomplish this. These similarities in function seem to imply a connection between these four temples, likely with the former becoming the latter.

In this case, the Skyview Temple may have become The Wind Waker's incarnation of the Earth Temple, as the two temples share some architectural similarities and seem to be in similar locations geographically (both of them being in the southern sectors of the overworld and relatively close to forested regions, e.g. Skyview temple is within Faron Woods in Skyward Sword and the Earth temple is relatively close to Forest Haven in The Wind Waker).

Lanayru Mining Facility is the third dungeon to appear in Skyward Sword. It is very unique among most dungeons in the Zelda franchise's history, being a technologically advanced facility run by robots and containing within it conveyor belts and frequent use of electricity in a world that is typically shown to be medieval-themed. The facility itself seems to be a refinery or a factory of some kind for Timeshift Stones.

Entrance to the Facility

The dungeon is located within Lanayru Desert, at first sunken beneath the large pool of sand in the east frontier of the ancient Temple of Time. It was the main industrial complex of an unnamed civilization or corporation that had died out. The dungeon is full of sand that has built up over time.

Link initially proceeds to the location of the Temple of Time, only to discover that the entrance is blocked. He then learns from an Ancient Robot that the Lanayru Mining Facility and the temple are connected underground. To unveil the facility, Link proceeds to activate three power nodes placed strategically in the areas close to its entrance. Two power nodes are located inside caches, and one is hidden behind a bombable statue.
