Response to "what the crap?"

Ahahaha. you got it. Feel free to revert it though. Its an inside joke. Get it? Anyway, reverting is fine. But next time, don't get so overworked. I even said it was a joke, man. :P --Seablue254 19:02, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Thank you!

You can delete this when you are done reading it but I just wanted to thankyou that link really helped! --ZeldaGirl101 17:44, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Nothing Awesome

I can't make any promises. I tend to think of awesome things when I least suspect it. :P If I don't act, I'll lose the thought. But there are two days that I will be gone as well (the 9th and 10th) I'll likely be back later on on the tenth. So thats a short time away. Have a good time at camp! Just hope it doesn't rain on you like is did to me on my camping trip. ^_^ --Mjr162006 05:16, 8 June 2008 (UTC) )

Haha. Actually, I'm hoping for rain. One year it rained all week and stayed a nice 65-70 degrees F. If it doesn't rain this week it'll be a solid 95 degrees all week. D: But whatever! So thanks, have fun, and I'll be leaving in... 3 hours? --Ando 13:14, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
Welcome back. Nothing Awesome happened. (Unless you count me making my computer a dual-boot awesome) --Seablue254 17:44, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
I'm not sure if any of it counts as awesome, but you can check my contributions to see what I've done.Among the things, I made our cite template so that it won't link to the article that it is in and so that it won't link for non-character quotes. I made a template that can change the content for every day of the week. A few other things too.--Mjr162006 17:53, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks, do you know the link for the usertags (if it's okay for me to ask)? Pakkun 22:43, 13 June 2008 (UTC)Rpp

(Not Ando, answering anyway)UserTags = Userboxes = Userboxes. There you are. --Seablue254 22:45, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Sorry. Thank you too. Pakkun 22:48, 13 June 2008 (UTC)Rpp
Don't be sorry! You're new, it's understandable. However, next time, don't ask a user who won't be back until Saturday! --Seablue254 22:49, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Manga

Why are the sites illegal? Does the U.S. hate to allow us to read Video Game Comics? --Seablue254 00:09, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Nah, they're illegal because of international copyright laws. Basically, fan-translators are taking someone's work that they should be getting paid for, scanning it in, translating it, then uploading it to the internet without the original artist's permission for any and all to download. For every person that just downloads the manga instead of legitimately purchasing it, the artist (and the publisher, and the store) loses that much money. Uploading and downloading that stuff is essentially stealing. This doesn't apply to just gaming manga, either. Any work created by anyone (movies, TV shows, music, etc.) from any country uploaded to the internet for free download without their permission is 100% illegal. Downloading it is also illegal but not as widely enforced. I have heard of several fansub teams getting fined upwards of ~$10,000-20,000 and jailed for something like 5 years for fansubbing anime, if that gives you any indication of how illegal it is. --Ando 00:16, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
I sees. Now if those writer would just MAKE A US COPY (THATS RIGHT, IM TALKING TO YOU WRITERS!!), everyone would be happy! Also, can I ask you a question in the chatroom quick? --Seablue254 00:19, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
Well, the Ocarina of Time manga is coming over to America (at least I believe it's the OoT manga; they announced two volumes, so it just makes sense) thanks to my favoritist publisher ever, Viz. :D And yeah, I'll hop in there now. --Ando 00:20, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
YAY! --Seablue254 00:21, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Illegal Content?

What illegal content? UberPhoeb 20:05, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Content such as links to online manga translations, anime fansubs, ROM's, etc. For more information, view this discussion as well as the discussion held just above this one (under the heading "Manga"). --Ando 20:18, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

It's OK

I was way outta line. I seemed to have went right out of all the rules and start throwing accusations. Darn, these areguements are to blame. They're whats bringing everyone into this battle. Anyways, i sure hope i didn't offened you, and i don't think i'll be leaving his place anytime soon! We all good? --Seablue254 20:13, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Don't worry guys. We all tend to get caught up in the heat of the moment. There is nothing like a good battle to get those brains of our moving. This is a wiki about Zelda Games right? And Zelda Games have a lot of what in them? Battling!!! I think this whole thing has improved my typing speed!--Mjr162006 21:17, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Heh. Matt, you never fail to cheer me up. --Seablue254 21:19, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Glad to be of service.--Mjr162006 21:23, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Just hit me. Maybe i should be the "make controversial edits" guy over here. I think i've shown I can care less, and as ling as everyones happy, ill do it ^_^ --Seablue254 13:47, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Tabs

OK, I'm in shock. Did I really just read that you don't use tabs in Firefox? I can honestly say that, without tabbed browsing, I would never patrol edits. It takes like, at least twice as long, if not more. I pity you for the hours of time you'll never see again, spent frantically clicking the back button. Please reconsider this course of internet-based self-harm :( --Adamcox82 21:06, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Haha, o gawd. I just lol'd. Anyways, I would certainly try tabs again, Ando. As I write, I have at least 3 tabs open. --Seablue254 21:11, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

It's not like I'd move any faster with tabs. I have no middle mouse button so the only way to open something in a tab is right-click->"open in new tab", which takes just as long as right-click->"open in new window". Sorry if I don't see the difference between tabs and windows; I'm used to windows so I stick with them. --Ando 23:20, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Actually, using firefox, just go to tools --> options --> tabs--> and check the box that says "Keep the tab bar open always" (or something to that effect), and install the addon "Tab Mix Plus" and there will be an extra bar with a button to open a new tab. --Seablue254 23:24, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

There is more. Just go to the same place tool→options→tabs and change new pages should be opened in a new tab instead of new window.--Mjr162006 23:31, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
It's already set to that. Doesn't matter. None of the recent changes links open in new windows, anyway, remember? :P --Ando 23:33, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Ando, don't take this the wrong way, but its called getting off your butt and doing a little work, like i have to whenever i use ubuntu. --Seablue254 00:04, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

No, that setting makes links that would open a new window instead open a new tab. With Tab Mix Plus, you can make it force a new tab to open for an external link. You can also make it do it for all links, but I highly recommend that you didn't do that. Wait..... holy crap!! Tab Mix Plus let's you easily undo closed tabs! Double click on a tab is set to nothing by default. You can change it to reopen the last closed tab! Yes you can put that setting on any of the clicking methods but double click on tab was unused and everyone here can do it. It is set by default for the middle mouse button for clicking on the tab bar. This is great! The link for Tab Mix Plus is on the Firefox Hints page under add-ons.--Mjr162006 00:11, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Okay, this undo closed tabs thing is awesome. If you close a tab by mistake, just double click another one. Sweet! :D --Mjr162006 00:16, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
Correct Matt. Let me translate one sentenc...found it. I believe "this is great!" can be decoded to "Seablue254, you're awesome!" In that case, thank you <3! --Seablue254 00:18, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, if you didn't mention Tab Mix Plus, I never would have noticed the option.--Mjr162006 00:20, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Heh. Yay me! --Seablue254 00:22, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

I bet you weren't expecting that! A real answer for your joke. Yeah...--Mjr162006 00:22, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
Is that an insult or a compliment? --Seablue254 00:26, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

But recent changes links aren't external links. They're still under the ZeldaWiki.org domain. Sorry if I'm just not understanding what on earth you people are talking about. :/ --Ando 02:13, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

NOT TO MENTION that tabs create another bar at the top of the screen, effectively lowering the overall height of the displayed web page. However minor, it still bugs me. That's why I love that Firefox has built-in Google search. Means I don't need the Google toolbar. :D --Ando 02:40, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Does F11 still make it go full screen on Vista? Full screen hides everything but the navigation bar and tab bar. That'll give more space than you lost. I know those aren't external links. That's why I mentioned that you can force it to open a new tab for all links. I removed the search box (right click and go to customize). I never use it, so it just waste space. I replaced it with the save session and exit button and the cut, copy, and, past buttons. It gave more room for the add-on added buttons too.--Mjr162006 02:51, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
I... I like the search function. :(
F11 means that I have to press it again whenever I want to do anything else (pull up the start menu, switch windows, check the freaking time)... sounds like more work than it's worth. And forcing open a new tab for all links just sounds... hectic. Plus, going back to the recent changes page manually (by hitting "recent changes", not by hitting back over and over, ADAM) allows me to see all of the recent changes as they happen, so I can catch vandals in the act. --Ando 02:55, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
I guess we just cant persuade you! --Seablue254 13:40, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Go back to the recent changes manually? Doesn't everyone do that? It's on the side bar all the time. It is not like it is hard to get to it. Adam just uses the back button? What? Why?--Mjr162006 13:50, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

O WAIT. You said that you had to press the F11 button to pull up start menu, change windows, and check time. WRONG. In fact, just pressing the Windows Button on your keyboard will open the menu AND the menubar, allowing you to change Windows and check time. Super Simple. --Seablue254 15:02, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
That's just as much work and effort as hitting F11. Same thing. :/ --Ando 18:14, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Over There

Earlier today, at around 3PM our time (8PM UTC), someone at Zeldapedia copied our Midna derivative image to over there. Same exact filename. He suggested using it over there. I told them about our debate and that the image was over there was in copyright violation. They deleted it right away. They still had an interest in using it so I told them how to contact the author for permission. Do you think our warning message telling people to contact the author to use it on their site wasn't clear enough? I tried to improve it a little bit. Any thoughts?--Mjr162006 03:34, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Well, you've gotta remember, it's a decent-sized image, and some people may not scroll down below the image to see if there are any notes attached to it. So I wouldn't say that it "wasn't clear enough" (as I think that anyone who reads it could understand "if you want to use it, contact the artist for permission"), but rather "wasn't noticeable enough", which I'm not sure there's anything we can do about outside of editing the actual image itself with some kind of watermark or disclaimer. :/ We can't really say that it was their fault, though: perhaps they assumed that it wasn't a derivative work and therefore could be used? Again, that would be a fault of the notice not being noticeable enough. Go figure. --Ando 03:47, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

It isn't that big. You barely have to scroll down at all to see what is written on my resolution. I added the for permission part long after it was copied, remember. I said it wrong above. I actually only said that the image came from our site and we had permission. I never said it was a copyvio. They decided that themselves. It looks like they are going to go get the permission. They just asked me for more specific instructions on how to get it on my talk page there.--Mjr162006 04:09, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Use a Quote

I said if I wanted to use a quote that someone here said, I would ask them first. I want to add a quote you said to my user page. I'll add punctuation.

Quote1 [Adds featured voting templates to category]
OH CRAP, I DIDN'T ADD NOINCLUDE TAGS!
Quote2
— Ando

It is pretty funny.--Mjr162006 05:15, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Haha, sure, whatever. No need to ask me. Use whatever of mine you feel like. ;) --Ando 13:26, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Subpages

Delete em. Both. --Seablue254 17:24, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

You sure about that? Then again, I'm not sure what the second sub-page is, I only know about the song of the day one. What's the other one? --Ando 18:58, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

P.S. You can use the delete tag on those pages if you need to. If you put them there yourself, then I'll delete the pages.

2nd is User:Seablue254/Random Quotes --Seablue254 19:30, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks :) --Seablue254 20:29, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Links

Care to top it off? The rest are locked from editing so I can't fix the links. The talk page isn't important though.--Mjr162006 23:32, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Done. --Ando 02:22, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
Nice. Tomorrow I'll start on another disambiguation page's linkto's. I'll give my hands a rest from that until then. For the rest of tonight, only minor stuff.--Mjr162006 02:33, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Aye. I took on a couple of these sessions myself back in the day. Need to get around to a couple more. --Ando 02:35, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

A lot of articles still point to Ganondorf. There are ton of them though. If we go through the disambiguation links, we'll be able to get a bunch of the Ganondorf links along the way. A crap it's nearly two. We've got some work to so. We'd better try not to edit the same thing. We don't want edit conflicts. They'd slow us down. Now it time to Ω_Ω (sleep).—ЯΝИR 06:58, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

I just thought of something. We can each set up macros for the game links. It goes like this:
|1=|2=|3=|4= |5=|6=|7=|8=|9= |0=|q=|w=|e=|r=|
This way we can enter the links even faster!—Matt 08:14, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
OH Yeah. We can use the macros for fixing these links. For example. Set one that puts in this:
Ocarina of Time (Item)Ocarina of Time
That'll make fixing these diaambiguation links a breeze.—Matt 08:20, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Dang, looks like someone got bored while I was asleep. :P Anyway, macros, eh? Sounds like a speed booster. My question, though, is why use the instead of just typing in the |? Seems a little silly to me. But yeah, maybe we should just split the list of disambiguation pages amongst ourselves, and work on those instead of both of us accidentally doing The Wind Waker or something. --Ando 14:07, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

The pipe ends the macro. If we use the pipe, I'll cut off there. So we have to substitute it. Didn't you notice on that list there that the pipe separated each button macro?—Matt 17:36, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I noticed that, but I thought that was just how you were separating the macros; I've never used this Firefox extension you speak of, so I have no idea what its syntax is. --Ando 18:14, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

We Can Have Sigs Another Way

Just a note. I can use this sig in a quarter second now. I assigned it to a macro.—ЯΝИR 07:09, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
Go to the add-on abcTajpuon on my hints pages. Install it, the go to tools → abcTajpuon → options. In the macros part remove all that is there. Here is what I had to type in it to make it work:
s=—User:Mjr162006ЯΝUser talk:Mjr162006ИR ~~~~~
The letter and the equals sign assigns it to a key. The pipe symbol ends the macro so we have substitute it. You then choose general hot key. Mine is INSERT. Save it. Then in any text field type the letter you assigned it to. The hit your general hoy key. It will then replace the letter with whatever is after the equal sign in the macro. There you go. You can do those neat sigs again!—ЯΝИR 07:24, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
I don't mean to brag. But I tend to do some really cool things when my eyes are begging for me to close them ν_ν.—ЯΝИR 07:27, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Does this one look better? It is on the p key.—Matt 07:32, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

I know you could figure it out, but here's one for you:

p=—User:AndoAnUser talk:Andodo ~~~~~

Simple. I think we've got something here. Good thing we've got Firefox. We'll have to test and see what onther wiki code we can do with it.—Matt 08:37, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Hey, cool. Never thought of using macros for sigs. Of course, yours strikes me as... odd and not very intuitive (no offense! It just seems to me that hiding two links in one word would cause a lot of people to skip over one link or the other unless they really payed attention). But yeah, the general idea of macros as sigs seems great to me. --Ando 14:07, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
Hey, Mr. Confused coming through. What do the s=- and p=- do? --Seablue254 14:15, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

That's just an example of the button you'd press to use the macro. So pressing p = whatever. --Ando 14:23, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

And a macro is? --Seablue254 14:25, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Basically it's block of text that you have assigned to a key. That way, instead of typing it all out again, you can just press that key to insert your macro. So if one of my macros is Four Swords Adventures and I have is assigned to "L", then pressing "L" will automatically insert that game link instead of me having to type the whole thing out. --Ando 14:27, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

And I set up one of these so called Macros how? --Seablue254 14:28, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
I was planning on making a more complex signature. this is just a starter. I'll try scrap up better one.—Matt 17:25, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
okies. --Seablue254 17:29, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
Seablue254 Sigh. I don't know why I can't get colors, but i think this is a basis. --Seablue254 17:53, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Like this? Seablue254 Is that it?—Matt(T C H) 18:20, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

How....the.......hell.....did....you...make..it........work.....? --Seablue254 18:30, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Just edit and compare.—Matt(T C H) 18:34, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

GAH!! I seem to have a problem with trolls. I guess it's my brains first natural defense against trolls. I guess that i'll have to start looking before i leap. Sorry about all this trouble :( —Seablue254 21:34, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

It's all right, just... think before you post. If you need to, don't post until you've had adequate time to think about what to say. --Ando 21:36, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
Understood. Maybe this has something to do with me having 2 brothers...we almost never get along...and apparantly i've been a little more aggressive verbally....—Seablue254 21:38, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
Heh, heh, Ando, you still keep your userboxes on the "left side". Nice place for them. I must be having memory problems because I seem to remember that that side was the right side. Is my memory bad? (^¿^) (^¿^) (^¿^) (^¿^) (^¿^). You can't misinterpret that one!
Can you?(°¿°)User:Mjr162006/sig 05:44, June 25, 2008 (UTC)

Well WHATEVER. I hardly update that page anyway. :P User:Ando/sig 11:20, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Firefox

you may want to upgrade again. ow to get as many items as you want to be in the address bar :] User:Seablue254/sig 00:54, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Nah. It's still a defined number. Firefox 2 just expands with how many URL's you have, and removes a URL only when you haven't clicked it in, like, forever. I don't want to enter "30" 'cause I know I'll want more but I don't want to enter "50" 'cause it seems like too many. Firefox 2's treating me just fine so far, I see no reason to upgrade. Thanks for the heads up, though. User:Ando/sig 02:12, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

It Is Him

It is the same XXXXX. He just said so. here. Well at least we know now.User:Mjr162006/sig 02:16, June 24, 2008 (UTC)

Wow. I'm not sure whether to be relieved or upset. :/ As a note, EVERYONE STAY OUT OF THIS. We do not want to get involved much more than we are. Let Zeldapedia deal with it if they decide to do anything. User:Ando/sig 02:18, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
That is was what I told them I'd try to do. Keep everyone over here out of it if he admitted.User:Mjr162006/sig 02:20, June 24, 2008 (UTC)
He bailed out. Left for another week. We better make sure none of our members go over there and do something stupid. Let's pull in the reigns.User:Mjr162006/sig 02:29, June 24, 2008 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure that Sea will stay put. It's Link hero of light I'm worried about. Hopefully he doesn't do anything crazy. If so, I'll have to give him the same talk. User:Ando/sig 02:36, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

LOL. Don't worry, I've done alot of stupid, crazy, rash, idiotic things in the past, but, rash as I may be, I'm not stupid enough to go over there and make maters worse. I can't stop laughing at what you said, I done things like that before, luckily I have enough sense to stay away this time.--Link hero of light 03:21, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Haha, awesome. I was hoping so, and I didn't think that anything would happen. It's just that you're the only other member really involved in this in any way. :P User:Ando/sig 03:27, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

I wonder what will happen. He doesn't seem to realise that what he did was someting a admin should never do. Oh well, we just have to let zeldapedia deal with it. By the way, I'm laughing :)--Link hero of light 03:31, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

His statement about leaving for another week must have been just panic. But he did put an apology up on the "This is Mr. X" forum ever there.User:Mjr162006/sig 03:51, June 24, 2008 (UTC)
No he really is taking a week-long break. It must be the stress.User:Mjr162006/sig 04:05, June 24, 2008 (UTC)
I want you to know, while I am restraining myself to go over there and make a mockery of him, I am furious that he could be getting away with this. Also, why would you think Link would do anything? User:Seablue254/sig 19:00, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Well, I'm not saying that what he did was right, but honestly, what can you do to punish him outside of saying "Alright, but next time, know that we won't tolerate this"? He sounds like he didn't think that what he was doing would affect people this much. I guess he just didn't consider his actions to be all that bad. But now that he (and everyone else) knows that it's unacceptable, I can't see something like this happening again.
Also, I just didn't know how Link would react. Don't really know him all that well. User:Ando/sig 19:05, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

I don't know there. Did you see what others have said they did to Wikipedia. Vandalism in any form is wrong. I don't think that they see it that way though. So we can't really be sure if they won't do this to another Nintendo wiki someday or something. Or another from over there to us again. I think that XXXXX, who is male since others have revealed it, got really embarrassed when he learn the full extent of what everyone knew. We were lucky that he admitted it before he found out. His "second" vacation from the site was a panic flight. The embarrassment alone is a big punishment. I'm not saying that it was sufficient punishment though.User:Mjr162006/sig 19:13, June 24, 2008 (UTC)

We do have a troll for a burecrat (or however you spell it).--Link hero of light 21:45, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

wut User:Seablue254/sig 22:04, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
Yeah but he did it to his own site. And he isn't very active here. (Yes Ando you CAN start a sentence with an "and", people just don't like it. Well too bad, I don't like how buffet is spelled but I can't change that now can I?) The trollish, (Wait, spell check does have a problem with that word. Cool!), person there is an active sysop and should not being doing that to any wiki. Even if they think that they deserve it.User:Mjr162006/sig 21:55, June 24, 2008 (UTC)
OH SHIT TROLLS BAN BAN BAN. --Captain Cornflake 22:33, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
?? How did you get here so fast. Do you have a homing beacon on your name or something?User:Mjr162006/sig 22:39, June 24, 2008 (UTC)
I...actually told him.... User:Seablue254/sig 22:48, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

I just looked up the rule on not starting a sentence with a coordinating conjunction, and apparently it doesn't exist. :O It was just something most likely taught by teachers to prevent kids from not making "and" sentences that weren't actually full sentences ("It was kind of cool. But lame." Not a full sentence, there!). I thought that this rule existed. Everything I know about grammar has been shattered. User:Ando/sig 22:54, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Don't worry. you'll recover. User:Seablue254/sig 22:56, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

I don't see why you're so angry. You admit to being a troll and seem proud of it. I also don't see why seablue told you I mentioned your name. Does he come and report to you every time someone says your name?--Link hero of light 23:54, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

You could say that I'm Capn's friend. Come on guys, i try to be friends with everyone. The "troll" is included. User:Seablue254/sig 00:05, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
I love how you just inferred out of nowhere that I was "so angry." I just think it's hilarious how much you seem to dislike my overwhelmingly positive presence here and vent it at every possible opportunity. :D --Captain Cornflake 00:14, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
I do have to admit, this whole incident actually seems to have improved our site's relationship with Zeldapedia. At least something positive has come out of it. I am relieved that it really was him. It was a gut instinct that I knew it had to be him. My instincts have never failed me in the past. Although, I do occasionally fail to pay attention to them.
@Link hero of light, I don't really know the details of what the Captain actually did. But I far as I can tell, he's gotten over doing things like that. He seems to have a very comical attitude most of the time. People here don't seem to hold what he did against him.
Seablue254. I'm not sure it was entirely necessary to go get him. No one was really making any trouble and it wasn't a harsh insult.
Okay gurs you may have seen me do it befor, but I'm now going to define a word.

A troll is a person that:

Torments our users, or
Raids our site, or
Obsessively adds
Ludicrous content and can border on complete
Lunacy.
So now we have a word to define these people! Capt. Corn. I don't think you fit under this anymore. So is the new word good or what? :P I think it is. :P User:Mjr162006/sig 04:57, June 25, 2008 (UTC)
While I appreciate that Capn isn't classified as a "troll" anymore, i think it was intirely necessary because he was being insulted behind his back (Link) :) User:Seablue254/sig 10:35, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

You, uh, don't need to tell someone when they're being insulted. In fact, some people probably don't want to know (I'm not saying that Capn cares, just that other people will). User:Ando/sig 11:20, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Well sorry. I told him anyway because I thought he might want to know. He's not a bad person, you know, he just hates people that are hard to deal with. User:Seablue254/sig 11:35, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Image Program

What was it you used again? User:Seablue254/sig 21:20, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Uh, well, it depends. If I'm just doing really, really basic stuff, I'll use Microsoft Paint (it's a lot more powerful than people give it credit for, it just needs time and patience). If I'm doing something more advanced, though, that requires full anti-aliasing or alteration of text or even just for drawing, I'll use Adobe Photoshop Elements 4. It came free with my Wacom Tablet. :D User:Ando/sig 22:57, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
Photoshop elements 4. Got it :) User:Seablue254/sig 22:58, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
$100.typical. User:Seablue254/sig 23:04, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Did you expect it to be free? :P User:Ando/sig 23:05, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Free? I wish. Now let me post! Too many edit conflicts!
Heh, heh. Guess what two programs I used make that image transparent. Microsoft Paint and Microsoft Photo Editor! They're better than most people think. For most other things I use Photoshop... Version 3, from 1998. Hey, it may be old, but I used Photoshop CS and I guarantee that it is no where near as good as Photoshop 3. Just kidding. :P Photoshop 3 is about four times better at improving the image quality existing images only, and CS is better at everything else. Photoshop 3 has an auto-improve feature that was removed in later versions. None of CS's auto features work any near as well as the one feature in version 3. I used CS on my school tablet. I'm not that inclined to buy it though. Adobe seems to think that a few hundred bucks is really cheap. I don't think so, morons.User:Mjr162006/sig 23:14, June 24, 2008 (UTC)PS: Ando, my middle school teacher was like that too. My high school one spilled the beans on that not being a rule.
Actually, yes. User:Seablue254/sig 23:50, 24 June 2008 (UTC) BTW, how do you make things transparent?!
Here's how I did it. I go into paint and take away the background and replace it with one color I know isn't in the rest of the picture. Then I go into Photo Editor and use the set transparency tool to make that exact color transparent. I'm not sure how, but the the newer versions of photo shop there is a way. I didn't spend enough time with them to find out.User:Mjr162006/sig 00:01, June 25, 2008 (UTC)PS: So your the Captain's homing beacon. Did he hire you? Or did he subconsciously control your mind into telling him anything that might pertain to him? :P

@ Seablue254, I'm not sure if Elements would work for everything, the options are pretty limited, have you tried using GIMP yet?Template:Nosig

Yes, i have The GIMP :) User:Seablue254/sig 11:34, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
For transparency, may i have a walkthrough? User:Seablue254/sig 13:25, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
It is different for every program. But usually you can go to its help feature and search for transparency. Do you have Microsoft Photo Editor? It usually comes with every version of windows. If you do have it I could tell you how it works in there.User:Mjr162006/sig 13:31, June 25, 2008 (UTC)
I have a 60 day trial starter digital photo editor 2006 from Microsoft. User:Seablue254/sig 13:36, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
I don't think that is the same one I have. Mine came free with Windows XP. Its actual title is "Microsoft Photo Editor". So I would not know. You may have to look in its help feature. It will tell you how to use the feature. Then you can test it on some images to get some practice.User:Mjr162006/sig 13:40, June 25, 2008 (UTC)

If you want to render with GIMP, then this is what you need to do. First of the GIMP toolbar, the long one that appears on the side, there is a tool that looks like an ink pen connecting some white dots. This is called the paths tool. Basically you plant dots on the border of the part you want to make transparent. Once you make it all around, connecting the first dot with the last, the is a button at the bottom of the tool bar in the path tool section which says "Path to Selection", this makes the path, obviously, selected. Then in the toolbar in the image you're editing, go to Select>Invert. Now the selection is around the background. Now simply press DELETE, then your image should have no background.--MARKOL

I tried GIMP earlier today. It made too many errors. When I was placing th anchors around the image the program seems to thing that I put in about 30 anchors right in the middle of the subject. It made an artificial white-fuzzy outline of the entire image subject. There was no large white areas to begin with. With all the time I wasted on this program, it would have been faster just to use MS Paint. I don't recommend using GIMP at all. It isn't that good of a program.
Tomorrow I'm going to work on another TP boss image. It looks like Blizzeta going to take a while. I know Adam spent a lot of time on those wings of that Twilight Bug. But with the Diababa I think I spent more time on it. Just look at it. I know it isn't that big of an image, but it has a lot of really tough spots to clean. A few took judgment calls. It seems like Molgera and Argorok won't be anywhere near as hardas Blizzeta, so I'll get those first.
Ando, do you any idea what the hell happaned with that Diababa upload? Somehow my upload restored the glitched image from the grave. I thought only admins can do anything like that. Why would it merge the images anyway. It hasn't done it to any other new version uploads to my knowledge. Also, do have any clue what is going on with the site? It has been have a lot of errors today. Mostly pages loading to a blank screen. I must not just be me because the number of edits was way down from normal. One of the early error messages was "Fatal error: Call to a member function select Row() on a non-object in /home/zeldaw/public_html/includes/User.php on line 761" Do you know if Jason is trying to do something. I think that that is the user settings file for Zelda Wiki.org. I think that is where our nickname box would be set up at. I'm not sure though. Does he even know about it? Did anyone bother to tell him? What's with the zero at the top of the preferences? Did I ask too many questions? Oh, that was another question. Oh and here something you should know: Next time you archive, all you need to type is Archive. I fixed it a while ago so it automatically links to the correct talk page no matter where it is placed. Ah, damn that was a really long post of mine here. What is it 2321 bytes?User:Mjr162006/sig 04:39, June 26, 2008 (UTC)
Dang, 23 bytes too low. I was so close!It was just a guess too!User:Mjr162006/sig 04:42, June 26, 2008 (UTC)

I'll be back

Yeah, i'm leaving at 11 in the morning or so today for a trip. I'll be back the day after in the afternoon. Just letting you know so you're not like "wut the hell this guy won't answer his page!!111!" or "lolwut?! this guy isn't in the chatroom but he asks me all the time to be here?!!!11!".
