Magic powder has a number of uses; it can dissolve bushes, turn antifairies into normal fairies, and has a number of effects on various enemies. Perhaps its most useful application is to awaken a sleeping bat in a well near the Dwarven Swordsmiths' shop. When sprinkled on the strange altar inside of the well, it will summon the strange bat, who rants at you for a while before doubling your magic power.
Wait for the egg to hatch at dawn.

He will give you a mushroom which you must take to the potion shop in Kakariko Village within the time limit.

You will get a Medicine for the mushroom and head back to Lost Woods just to find that the boy passed away and probably transformed into a Stalfos. Give the medicine to the Kokiri girl and she will give you a Saw.

Take the Saw to the Carpenter's Chief in Geroudo Valley (across the bridge) and he will give you the Broken Goron Sword.

Take it to Biggoron on top of Death Mountain and he will ask you for Eye Drops and will give you a prescription.

Take it to King Zora and he will give you an Eyball Frog.

Take the frog to the lakeside labortaory in Lake Hylia within the time limit and give it to the scientist in there. (Don't try using the Serenade of Water to reach Lake Hylia fast, if you do the timer will go down to 1 second which makes it obviuosly impossible.)

The scientist will give you the Eye Drops which you must take to Biggoron within the time limit. (again don't warp or the timer will go down to 1 second.)

Biggoron will give you a Claim Check (A master's work take time)

Wait three days to pass or simply play the Sun's Song six times and give the Check to Biggoron, he will give you the Biggoron Sword.

Magic Powder is an item obtained in A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening. In both cases is is created for Link by a witch in return for bringing her a mushroom.

In A Link to the Past, the Mushroom is found in the Lost Woods and handed over to the Witch just northeast of Hyrule Castle. Once Link has given her the mushroom, the magic shop assistant will give him the powder.

In Link's Awakening, Link must give the Sleepy Toadstool to the witch before she can mix it, and it can also be won at the Trendy Game. It has a variety of uses; lighting fires, destroing enemies, and even waking up Tarin from a strange nap.
