- For the games, see Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages.
The Oracles[1] are a group of three powerful women. They are: Din, the Oracle of Seasons; Nayru, the Oracle of Ages; and Farore, the Oracle of Secrets. They all appear in Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages, with the former two Oracles having prominent roles in those games, as well as The Minish Cap.
Biography[]
Oracle of Seasons[]
The Oracle of Seasons is fated with keeping the world's climatic order in balance. When Din is kidnapped and forced into a crystal prison by General Onox, the seasons go awry and change at the slightest notice.
Oracle of Ages[]
The Oracle of Ages has the ability to travel through time. When Veran takes of the body of Nayru, the Oracle of Ages, she goes back in time to change the course of history.
The Oracle of Secrets plays a very minor role in the Oracle games. She resides in the Hall of Secrets, only talking about secrets from the Linked Game and giving special items if given certain passwords.
The Minish Cap[]
In The Minish Cap, the Oracles appear as traveling vagabonds in search for permanent residence in Hyrule Castle Town. Link can fuse Kinstones with all three, but only the first two fusions provide the travelers with permanent homes in the town. If the Kinstone Fusion grants Din, Farore, or Nayru a house, Link will be presented with Din's Charm, Farore's Charm, or Nayru's Charm, respectively.
Trivia[]
- The Oracles are named after the famed Hylian goddesses: Nayru, Goddess of Wisdom, Farore, Goddess of Courage, and Din, Goddess of Power.
- In the original Japanese text, the Oracles are referred to as "Shrine Maidens". This is the same title as the Maidens of Four Swords Adventures. It is not known if there is a connection between the two.
- Farore was originally planned to be the focus of the cancelled third game, Mystical Seed of Courage.
