Hello, Silver12Heart! First of all, thank you for all the images you have recently uploaded about ''Phantom Hourglass''. However, some of the ones you've added are duplicate files. For example, the [[Ghost Ship]] image (seen [[:File:Ghost1.jpg|here]]) was already on the wiki, although had a lesser quality than the one you uploaded. If you want to upload a better version of an image that already exists, simply click the "Upload a new version of this file" link that can be found at the bottom of the image (just make sure the file extension matches the image you're trying to replace). I've already done it for you, but just try to check if an image you want to upload already exists, alright? ;) Another one is [[:File:PH GossipStone01.png|this image]] you uploaded. We already have a [[:File:Gossip Stone PH.png|transparent version]] of such image, so I will be deleting it shortly.

}}

Anyway, once again, thanks for helping us out on the PH images, since we really need higher-quality versions of those. Hope you stick around! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. :) Happy editing! [[User:Dany36|Dany36]] 23:11, 10 January 2011 (EST)

:Hello, Dany36. First I must note, I have no idea if this is the way I should replying to your message. I'm mostly new to the site, and still figuring things out. I'm very happy to be apart of Zelda Wiki, and that I can contribute something worth while.

:About the Ghost Ship image I uploaded, I know about replacing, but was unaware that there was already a copy. I'll be making more of an effort to check that first. Though the Gossip Stone thing was for more examples then anything else.

:If you do get this, please tell me. Or tell me how I should be trying to respond. xD

: [[User:Silver12Heart|Silver12Heart]] 24:25, 11 January 2011 (EST)

::It's ok, at least you're letting us know that you're putting an effort in what you're doing. Plus, you're still new and mistakes are bound to be made, so that's why we're here to guide you! Anyway, if you have any more doubts about how to place images on pages or how to upload them, then I recommend [[Help:Images|this page]]. It's pretty well-made and I think it covers pretty much everything you need to know about images on a wiki. :)

::And yes! Replying on the same talk page that the conversation was started on is the preferred method of answering. That way the conversation is all in one page instead of being separated on two talk pages. (I sort of fixed the formatting though ;) Good to see you're getting the hang of things around here! [[User:Dany36|Dany36]] 00:04, 11 January 2011 (EST)

::Oh, and ONE LAST THING (...for now! XD) I noticed your edit to the [[Tetra]] article. Instead of writing out the whole <nowiki>[[Phantom Hourglass]]</nowiki> ordeal, it'd be much easier to add it using the Game Formatting Templates. So instead of writing all of that out, you'd just type <nowiki>{{subst:PH}}</nowiki>, which results in this:

:: ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass|Phantom Hourglass]]''

:: Nice, eh? We encourage users to use the game formatting shortcuts because typing [[Phantom Hourglass]] leads to a disambiguation page...which is bad! O: For a list of all Game Formatting Templates, you can go here:

:: http://zeldawiki.org/Category:Formatting_Templates

:: [[User:Dany36|Dany36]] 00:15, 11 January 2011 (EST)

:::Thank you for reference and guideline material. I'll try to use the templates where ever I can.

:::Though I do have a question. I have looked around the site (and i'm sure i could have easily missed it.), but I am having problems up-loading a new version of an image. The original image is in .gif format, but I want to replace it with a .png. Though when I try to do this it tells me "File extension does not match MIME type." Is there a way that this can be changed? Or do I have to change my own file to a .gif to match the old version?

:::[[User:Silver12Heart|Silver12Heart]] 09:18, 11 January 2011 (EST)

::::Hmmm yeah for those cases it'd be best to just upload it as a separate file altogether, and then mark the old file with the [[:Template:Imdel|Image delete template]] by saying it has been '''superseded'''. Hope that helps! [[User:Dany36|Dany36]] 20:24, 11 January 2011 (EST)

== Categorizing Images ==

Hey Silver12Heart!! AWESOME job getting all those ''Phantom Hourglass'' images!! They're really great! You can help categorize these images by which game they're from by using the [[:Template:FileGame|FileGame template]]. To use the FileGame template for ''Phantom Hourglass'' images, just type <nowiki>{{FileGame|PH}}</nowiki> in the image summary when you upload them. Keep up the great work, we hope you stay at ZeldaWiki.org for a long time to come! {{:User:Embyr 75/sig}} 02:51, 12 January 2011 (EST)

:Glad I could help out. I'm glad I could get some images for the game, though I hope other people can handel doing the text parts. Can't say I like typing as much as the visuals. I'll add that template from now on. Sorry I didn't do it sooner. Would there be a way to add it to the images i've already added? I can only think of doing the "up-loading new version", and just do it then.

:[[User:Silver12Heart|Silver12Heart]] 04:21, 12 January 2011 (EST)

::I'd encourage you to add a ''tiny'' description for your images, or state where you took them. It only takes you 3 seconds, but saves readers a bunch of time. It doesn't really matter how eloquent it is right now because eventually someone else will fix it. Anyway, just press the "edit" button on the top of the image page to fix it up, just like you do with articles. Add text you want above the licensing, preview and save! {{:User:Abdullah/sig}} 10:59, 12 January 2011 (EST)

:::GREAT JOB adding all those FileInfo templates!!! It really helps a lot! Keep it up! :) {{:User:Embyr 75/sig}} 14:24, 17 January 2011 (EST)

::::Thank you. :) I'm just trying to add the content the way it should be done. Though when I add a bulk of images, the summary goes on all of them. So I just go back to them and add in the correct summary later. I do have a question though about the site, when you go to the Recent Changes page, it has numbers in green or red. What do those numbers represent?

::::[[User:Silver12Heart|Silver12Heart]] 14:37, 17 January 2011 (EST)

:::::Those numbers are how many characters have been added (in green) or subtracted (in red) in the last edit. So for example, if there's a green (+1), it means someone added just one character (or that the number of characters subtracted and the number added balance out to +1). ...Did I explain that so it made any sense at all? XD {{:User:Embyr 75/sig}} 15:02, 17 January 2011 (EST)

::::::Yes, that makes complete sense. ^_^ I was unsure if it was a ranking number of the content that was added/removed, or actually a number representing the content itself. Or something else I just wasn't thinking off.

::::::[[User:Silver12Heart|Silver12Heart]] 15:08, 17 January 2011 (EST)

:::::::Cool. ^_^ {{:User:Embyr 75/sig}} 15:18, 17 January 2011 (EST)

== A Question To Those Who Are Knowledgeable ==

I tried to upload a newer version of an image that is sitting in the Image Requests page. After clicking the upload button, I came to a page that said I didn't have permistion to do this. The reason being the following:

"The title "File:Bluetwinjuggler.jpg" has been banned from creation. It matches the following blacklist entry: .*[Uu][\W_\.,]*[Gg][\W_\.,]*[Gg].*### ugg"

So, what have I run into, and how can I avoid this?

[[User:Silver12Heart|Silver12Heart]] 10:22, 25 January 2011 (EST)

==Nice job with transparencies==

I just came by to compliment your amazing renders. The [[:File:MM IceKeese.png|Ice Keese]] and [[:File:Freezard TP 3.png|Freezard]] images look particularly difficult to work with, yet you managed to pull them off. I'd love to see more of your work in the future {{:User:Abdullah/sig}} 08:19, 12 April 2011 (EDT)

:I second that. Honestly, I don't even know if I could do that myself. I'm impressed! Keep up the good work! {{:User:Hylian King/sig}} 08:23, 12 April 2011 (EDT)

::Thank you guys, that means a lot. :) I very much enjoy doing this kind of stuff. I wish I could only capture the quality of the raw pictures myself, but whom ever does get them, I thank them for the size of the image. I'm not sure if this is just the basic, or if people may not know, but using Masks to create all these transparences does make it easier and better.

::Though, would either of you know the solution of the problem I ran into months back? Its just about this section, and is about the Blue Twin Juggler.

::[[User:Silver12Heart|Silver12Heart]] 12:40, 12 April 2011 (ADT)

:::Masks, eh? I'm still getting used to those. It's one of those things you don't think you need till you try it out.

:::Anyway, sorry about the file name issue. We had a spammer a while back that liked to use "Ugg" in page titles, so we blocked the phrase. He's been gone for a while, though, so [[User:Cipriano|Cipriano]] fixed the problem for you. Enjoy =D {{:User:Abdullah/sig}} 09:01, 13 April 2011 (EDT)

==Uploading Files==

I see that you are manually inputting the '''FileInfo''' template when uploading files. I'm not sure if you know this, but if you go down and check "Include the FileInfo template" under the "Upload Options" section (should be checked by default), you should get a properly formatted template. Just put the summary in the summary, source in the source and select the options in the dropdown menus. {{:User:Abdullah/sig}} 09:49, 17 April 2011 (EDT)

== Shadows ==

Hullo, Silver12Heart!! As always, thank you so much for always taking care of transparency under Image Requests... That page would be full of unfinished images if it weren't for you. Just an "fyi", it's not necessary to keep the shadows that are under the characters in the original image, such as [[:File:MM Lulu2.png|this]], so it's ok to leave that off. Continue your awesome work! [[User:Dany36|Dany36]] 23:57, 23 July 2011 (EDT)

:That sounds fine to me. Since I have all the images from what I've done, I can go back and remove all the shadows I have added into images. [[User:Silver12Heart|Silver12Heart]] 13:30, 1 August 2011 (ADT)

==Wow!==

Just wanted to say awesome work on those Zelda II monster images I uploaded. I have a few more I haven't uploaded yet if you ever feel like doing more, you did them perfectly. Don't know how you did it! Photoshop trickery? I failed in my own attempts with the basic version of PS I'm stuck with. Anyway, thank you very much! [[User:Fizzle|Fizzle]] 17:18, 10 October 2011 (EDT)

:I added a bunch more to the Image Requests page, since you said you quite liked doing them. If you attempt to do Mau, try and keep the wall behind it, but I have another image scanned from a different issue that might be easier for that one, let me know if you think I should upload that, its a bit smaller but might be easier. Thanks again! [[User:Fizzle|Fizzle]] 15:08, 13 October 2011 (EDT)

::Alright, you gotta tell me what program and particular options you use to remove the backgrounds because I'd love to be able to do it myself for some pictures rather than expect you to do them all! I use a version of PS and the magic wand tool but I always end up with horrible white edges, do you remove those manually, or do you do it differently? [[User:Fizzle|Fizzle]] 07:06, 22 October 2011 (EDT)

:::Thank you very much for the complements. I really don't mind doing them at all, I'm just sad how long it takes me to get to them. I'm also currently using PS, so you should be able to accomplish the same effect. Before I make a huge lengthy post, I would add that I'm not a very text oriented person, and will try my best to explain. Also, would you like me to post it here in My Talk page, or over in yours, or is there a better place? [[User:Silver12heart|Silver12Heart]] 14:06, 22 October 2011 (ADT)

::::Its easier for me to notice and find again if you put it on my talk. I don't need lots of detail, just the tools you might use and some idea of the settings you prefer for them, it would be a great help in future, thanks! [[User:Fizzle|Fizzle]] 10:10, 23 October 2011 (EDT)

:::::Thats a lot of help, thanks! I have a couple of simple ones I can try that method on, if my version of PS allows it. Great work on the Parutamu picture by the way. [[User:Fizzle|Fizzle]] 21:31, 23 October 2011 (EDT)

== Welcome back! ==

And thanks for removing the background on the Bago-Bago pic. I'm still pretty bad at doing that. I can't quite work out Photoshop, I do keep trying though.

Now to somehow persuade you to take on the tricky Stalfos Knight one... {{:User:Fizzle/sig}} 16:39, 13 August 2012 (EDT)
