Hyrule Compendium Entry
Lynel Swords are Weapons wielded solely by Lynels. They belong to the Lynel Gear equipment archetype, a series of Weapons crafted by Lynels.[3] Though most Lynels will increase in tier as Link defeats more Enemies, the Lynel on Ploymus Mountain will always remain a regular Lynel. This makes it a permanent source of Lynel Swords and other low tier Lynel Gear. In Master Mode, though the Lynel on Ploymus Mountain remains the same, all other Lynels are tiered up to Blue-Maned Lynels. However, Blue-Maned Lynels will still make use of Lynel Swords, meaning they are still obtainable.
Because they are made for smashing, Lynel Swords are heavier than standard swords.[1] Lynel Swords can conduct Electricity and attract Lightning when equipped during a Thunderstorm due to being made of metal. They can also be picked up using the Magnesis Rune on the Sheikah Slate, but they will sink if they are dropped in Water.
