Majiyo is the main antagonist of Ripened Tingle's Balloon Trip of Love. She is the one who sold Tingle the book that sucked him inside in the beginning of the game. She is also the final boss of the game.

  +
In the Japanese and earlier European versions of the game, the hippo is actually posing as a nude model. She has a towel around the lower half of her body, and her upper body has what appeared to be breasts. When Link walks in, she quickly pulls her towel up and sits down. This explains her response of "Go away!" when Link speaks to her in the American version. Nintendo of America deemed this to be too inappropriate for American audiences, and as a result, the towel was removed and she was given a more unisex appearance. This censorship can also be found in later European versions of the game.

Strategy
At the start of the battle, Majiyo will grow to a giant size, causing Tingle and his friends to jump onto Lion's back and give chase. Buriki identifies the heart atop Majiyo's head as her weak point. Tingle must shoot the top of her head with his slingshot while also shooting down the insect-like projectiles that she summons. Occasionally Majiyo will summon a massive caterpillar that chases after the group. When this happens, Lion will turn and run away until the caterpillar is defeated, allowing Tingle and his team to resume the chase.

Once enough damage has been done to Majiyo, she will transform into a giant snake. Lion will run alongside it while Tingle shoots its head and the frogs it shoots out of its back. If Tingle fails to defeat the frogs before they reach him, they suck out his health through a "kiss". Once her snake form is defeated, the battle continues the same way as the first round until her defeat.

However, just as it seems that Tingle has saved the day, Majiyo reappears in a more demonic form. She takes the form of a gigantic floating head that is surrouned by six rotating hands that summon tarot cards. The tarot cards have will have one of two characters in them, either Majiyo, who must be attacked, or a kidnapped girl, who must not be attacked. As usual, the weak point is the heart on top of her head which must be shot with Tingle's slingshot. As the fight goes on, the number of cards that will appear will increase and the speed of the rotation will also increase, increasing the chances of Tingle accidentally hitting the girl by mistake. Once the heart has been hit enought times, it will shatter to reveal Majiyo's face. Once Tingle shoots the face the fight is actually over.

Biography

The Hippo Model is a female hippo posing for a painting by Schule Donavitch. She can be found in Schule Donavitch's studio in the Animal Village. If Link approaches her, she sits down and annoyedly asks him to leave.[1]
