Link is a Cat character in Twilight Princess.[name reference needed][note 1]
Biography[]
Link is the pet Cat of Sera, the owner of Sera's Sundries, the only shop in Ordon Village. The Cat himself is named after the hero Link.
After being scolded for stealing the Fish that was going to be the family's dinner, Link runs off causing Sera to become so worried that she's unable to run the shop[1]. Link the hero can find Link the Cat behind Jaggle's house, attempting to catch fish from the water. However Link is unable to catch the pet animal as he runs away whenever the hero approaches.
Once Link has caught two fish, Link the Cat will run over and steal one of them, and then run home with it. Inside he is greeted by half a bottle of milk and an overjoyed Sera, who is so relieved by his return that she gives the hero the other half of the milk on the house.[2]
When the Hero of Twilight later returns to Ordon Village in his wolf form, he can talk to Link, who will tell him how to sneak up behind Hanch and surprise him, thereby avoiding being attacked by his Hawk.
Trivia[]
- Link the Cat is one of few creatures in The Legend of Zelda series who shares the name of the main protagonist. The others are the Goron named Link in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, and Abe and Rose's pet Pig in The Wind Waker.
- Unlike the Goron and Pig Links, it is not known in-game why Sera named her pet Cat after the hero.
- Ironically, in The Wind Waker, during the sidequest in Windfall Island where the hero Link quietly follows Mila, whenever she says "Who is that?", he meows like a Cat, technically mimicking the pet counterpart.
