Spoiler warning: Plot or ending details follow.

After sealing The Imprisoned and learning that he needs three Sacred Flames to empower his Master Sword, Link travels back to Skyloft to search for information on the locations of these Flames. Gaepora recites two verses of the Ballad of the Goddess, which mention the Light Tower and "two whirling sails". By aiming his Gust Bellows at the Propellers on the two windmills in Skyloft, Link can rotate them to point at the Light Tower; however, one propeller is missing. To retrieve it, Link helps revive LD-301S Scrapper, who carries the Propeller back from The Surface after Link locates it. Jakamar repairs the Propeller and windmill, allowing Link to rotate the mill and thereby unlock the Light Tower. He then climbs the Tower and plays the "Ballad of the Goddess" at the crest on the floor while Fi sings. This causes a lens to rise up and focus the sunlight into a beam that pierces the Thunderhead, granting passage.
