Lashley is a character in Breath of the Wild.[1]
Biography[]
Lashley is a Gerudo soldier who guards the Southeast Gate of Gerudo Town. She wields a Gerudo Spear.
If Link tries to enter Gerudo Town without a disguise, Lashley will stop him from entering and tell him that men are forbidden.[2] When spoken to, she will reiterate that men are not allowed inside and tell him to leave.[3]
When Link speaks to Lashley while wearing the Gerudo Outfit, she tells him that it is dangerous to wander around the Gerudo Desert because of the Divine Beast Vah Naboris.[4] While the Lookout Post is between them and the Divine Beast, she does not believe it is enough to protect them.[5] If Link asks about the Divine Beast, Lashley explains that it was said to be a god who protected the Gerudo Desert, but it suddenly appeared and began to wander aimlessly.[6] She claims that everyone is afraid that it will wander into Gerudo Town, but the chief, Riju, is doing everything she can do to avoid this.[7][8] Lashley also shares a rumor that Naboris shoots those who come near it with Lightning, and she hopes that it does not come their way.[9] Even though the Lookout Post is safe from the Lightning, there are many monsters in the area, so Lashley warns Link against visiting.[10]
If Link asks about the Lookout Post, Lashley points in its direction and explains that it is where Divine Beast Vah Naboris is monitored from.[11] Lashley then asks if Link is planning to go to the Lookout Post.[12] Though it appears close, Lashley claims that it is actually far away, and she recommends that Link should ride a Sand Seal to get there.[13] She repeats her warning about the monsters surrounding the Lookout Post.[10] When Link ends their conversation, Lashley tells him not to worry, as it is safe in Gerudo Town.[14]
After Divine Beast Vah Naboris has been calmed, Lashley claims that she was worried about Riju setting out on her own, but she now sees that she is capable.[15] She mentions hearing that Riju fought alongside a Hylian woman, remarking that she must have been strong.[16][17] Lashley claims not to have seen this Hylian from her post, and she wonders where she could have gone.[18]
When spoken to again, Lashley expresses her disbelief that the Divine Beast is actually gone.[19] While it only caused problems for the Gerudo, Lashley had been watching it for quite some time.[20] She admits that she feels somewhat lonely now.[21]
Trivia[]
- Lashley is one of several characters that will hit Link back if he attacks them with a Weapon.[22][23][24] These attacks deal no damage.
Nomenclature[]
